Nice quality hotel that is situated well to visit parts of the City. On a side street that is less noisy than most, and within a very short walking distance of some decent bars, restaurants and markets. Rooms were very clean and well done; comfortable. A short tuk tuk ride to anywhere in the central city.

Situated across from one of those restaurants that pull kids off the streets. About 10 minutes walk from the Central Market.

If you are in the mood for bar hopping, there are plenty of bars on the other end of the street. I felt a bit uneasy at night with the lack of street light. It was also an eye opening experience to see how a $10 working girl (high on drugs) look like.

I got one of the top floor luxury rooms with a marginal view of the Central Market (and one of the more modern malls - forgot the name) as well as the casino that felt very very very far away. The room looked decent. No bath tub.

Would have been happier if I were charged a bit less $40/night.

Breakfast were good. No other complaints except for the street lights (or the lack of). Centraliy located and within walk distance to many of the local food outlets. Again, if you are looking for more bars activities, stay near the Riverside.

A tuk tuk ride from the river and the Palace, a good value hotel, clean and functional. The cafe in the entrance could make reasonable coffees, an interesting array of food for breakfast. Clearly cater for the Chinese tourist market.

Our room had a view over the roof of the next building.

Twin rooms are larger than double rooms!

Room Tip: If you want a larger room - a twin room wins

4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 13, 2012 via mobile

During our 2 night stay, the staff was always very helpful and friendly. The "superior" room was very clean and has a glass door shower and shaving mirror in the bathroom, a small porch with table/chairs, comfy king bed, AC, TV and WiFi for $68. It was a bit noisy during the day due to construction nearby and the usual street activity, but quiet enough at night. Well, other than our very squeaky bed ;-) Sorry about that, fellow guests.

The buffet breakfast was mostly Khmer food along with eggs and noodle soup cooked to order. The food was just ok and some of it ran out probably because the staff was not quite prepared for a full house.

Location to eateries, market, etc is good. About 10-15 minute walk to most places.

We stayed at Cardamom as part of an Intrepid tour. It is fairly centrally located in a quiet street, Tuk tuks outside can take you anywhere in town for a few dollars,
.Rooms were comfortable with good bed and good pillows.
Breakfast was limited but ok. Staff were extremely obliging and friendly.

All said and done the hotel did the job.
Front of house staff very friendly (though dissapointingly unable to change down my ATM delivered $100 note!).
Our room was on the fourth floor. It overlooked a building site that started work at 0630hr (hardly the hotels fault I guess but I would have asked to move if any more than a two night stay).
Our very firm bed abutted the wall one side so that side had no reading light and one had to climb across the bed to access.
The hall way out side smelled of smokers and through our two night stay there was a pile of dirty towells left untended on a chair.
The breakfast was dissapointing we thought though I was saved by the presence of an 'egg station'. Jams and juices etc were not restocked until asked though noted other travellors do not seem to have the same view.
Very central but a tuk tuk to the riverfront ($2 or a 15m walk).

Room Tip: Ask if the bulding works have completed!
