“Nice”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 19, 2011

We had a change in travel plans and could not get into our hotel The Blue Lime for 2 days so they advised us to try their sister hotel The 240 which we did, they were very quick to respond to my emails and confirm our booking.
On arrival we were a little confused only because the entrance of the hotel is a beautiful cafe and it was full with lunchtime diners. Our room was on the top floor facing out over a park, it had an american loft type feel to it. We were very happy with the room and it's facilities - cold a/c, fully stocked mini bar, cable TV, free WIFI and nice breakfast in the downstairs cafe.

Part hotel, part cafe and part organic food shop this great little hotel, situated on 240 street just round the corner from the Royal Palace has new modern spotlessly clean rooms with comfy bed, large flat screen tv with satellite channels, bathroom out in the open as part of the whole room with separate shower room and toilet. Lovely staff who were all very helpful when we chose to check in at short notice after checking out of the Mysteres & Mekong round the corner after only two of our four nights there. They don't have a pool at the 240 but as their sister hotel happens to be The Pavilion situated just round the corner you can use the lovely pool there free of charge. There is also free wireless internet for those guests who packed their laptops etc and three computers to use for those who didn't. 240 street also has a number of restaurants which are close to the 240 which is handy if you don't want to stray far for something to eat in the evenings. Great breakfast included in the price, we paid $50 per night, including perfectly cooked boiled eggs and nice coffee. Would definitely stay there again and would thoroughly recommend it. 10/10.

We stayed at the 240 twice during our trip to Cambodia. The rooms were really nicely designed with a modern design and open bathrooms. On our first visit we stayed in one of the $45 rooms on the top floor, on our second visit in one of the $50 rooms on the first floor. The main difference with the more expensive room was that it was larger and had a Sofa, but the cheaper room was still really nice and in some ways we liked it more as it had a raised bathroom area. The location is great near the main attractions and on a street with lots of trendy restaurants/cafes/shops and the breakfast was also very
good.

A fantastic find but the taxi driver didn’t know where it was so we drove down Street 240 for some time. Look out for a red and white sign saying BOOKS and also a sign for Naturae which is the healthfood shop and café in the same building where you are served a lovely continental breakfast with freshly squeezed juice. We paid $50 which included a $5 per night discount at their suggestion as our room had suffered a leak from above so there was some discolouration on the ceiling. The design throughout the shop and rooms is funky and modern with bright accent colours. Our room was light and spacious with dark wooden furniture, flatscreen TV, free wifi, kettle and a big walk-in shower in the bathroom. We were delighted with the terrace area which was larger than expected especially the promised plunge pool which was a long deep trough easily big enough for two to stretch out and cool off. It felt like a real oasis after a hot day in the busy city. You can also use the pool in the sister hotel, The Pavilion which is just round the corner. This would be more suitable if you want a full hotel service and perhaps reception staff with better English but the 240 is ideal for a city break. The style of the property epitomises the street it is named after which is full of chic and contemporary boutiques and cafes with a real cosmopolitan feel which we were surprised to find existed in Cambodia.

We stayed 4 nights. The staff is friendly and very helpful. Rooms are clean, bed comfortable. Has a safe to keep valuables. Wonderful breakfast included- good bread, jam, eggs, and fruit. Hotel location can't be beat - close to Palace, National Museum, and many great restaurants. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and will definitely stay again the next time we visit. The only downside is computers at the hotel have a VERY slow internet connection. We couldn't get into our emails because it took so long. Other than that, highly recommend this hotel.

I also noticed that the internet connection had gone slow these lately, sorry about that. I will get a technician to try to solve this quickly. Cheers, Alexis

The staff at The 240 are excellent. They are able to book further travel with no hassle. The restaurant and shop that they have at the hotel are amazing.
The 240 is in a great location for being able to easily walk to a lot of attractions like the Royal Palaces and the museum.

I was placed in a ground floor room closest to the fornt door and I found it at night to be very peaceful in my room.

Thank you for a great experience!

We ended up so pleased with this hotel! My daughter really wanted a pool so the 240 was not our first choice, but as it was Chinese new Year so many hotels were already booked. The 240 emailed me back with two rooms and we jumped on it. I am so glad we did! Not only are the rooms lovely, comfortable and quirky - the location is excellent (my husband and I spent most every night wandering up and down the street, popping into shops and nice bars with happy hours!) and seemed central to everything. The best part, though, was the staff. The 240 was our first stop in Cambodia and they were so great about answering questions and mapping locations out for us. The breakfast is lovely and the little shop was really great. At the end of a day touring about, this was the perfect place to come back to. I highly recommend this hotel. Just a note that there was construction across the street but we never heard them at all.
