My partner and I spent 2 nights at Alibi. The previous week had been without AC in a much dirtier location so this was much needed. Very clean rooms. When we went down for the inclusive breakfast (which was adequate) upon returning to our room just 30 minutes later they had already made and tidied the room. The staff were very nice and friendly.
The second day we rented a motorbike from the place on the corner based on the owners suggestion. For $5 for the entire day, best way to see Phnom Penh! If you don't mind the hectic traffic. When we returned the bike there was a "new" scratch on it, which meant they wouldn't return my passport without getting $20. Like most, this screamed out scam! Before doing anymore, I returned to the guesthouse the ask the owner his thoughts. To my surprise he actually walked down to the shop with me and argued in my favor! What I should have done was look the bike over at the beginning. It seems that the bike had been knocked over while we were visiting the Killing Fields and unfortunately there was nothing we could do. He did have the cost knocked down to $15...
5 minute walk to the Royal Palace and National Museum (which I don't think is worth the $5) put Alibi in the perfect location!
Thank you to Christian and the rest of the team!
