“Good Aussie tucker”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 12, 2013

New owners from Adelaide. Pork on the spit, pizza oven, chips & gravy, fried Camembert with cranberry sauce, that's what we tried and was good. Bar stools close to street for people watching, wines, nice staff. Worth a try

Hey Kathryn. Thank you for your review. The Aussie XL team is striving to maintain the great standards set by Carl, & yes Anzac Day will be one not to be missed!! We are also planning a HUGE Australia Day with an AFL match with the Cambodian Eagles playing Vietnam!! It promises to be a big clash followed by fun at the Aussie XL. Hope you & everyone else can make it!!

“Decent enough, but lacks charm”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 7, 2012

Had a Sunday roast there, was just OK and quite expensive for what it was. Nice staff who provided good service, but overall, an average place lacking personality

Hi TFH04. Thanks for your review. We're sorry you didn't find the Aussie XL atmospheric! We strive to offer diners a great experience with all our meals & facilities.
We don't get too many complaints about our roasts other than they are too big & don't leave enough room for our great desserts!! Please come again and I promise you a fantastic time. Regards, Pete & Brian (New owners)

“Aussie EXcells”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 24, 2012

Been living in PP for 6 months and probably would have left if not for Aussie. Really great food, atmosphere, staff etc. Icy cold beer by glass and the first I've found with stubby holders, a must in PP. Food portions HUGE and tasty. Staff very friendly and attentive. Owner Carl a great bloke who pays attention to detail and knows what expat's want. Go there, you won't be disappointed, but go there hungry cos Aussie will satisfy you in all ways. A great haven in a nice part of town, so it will be rare to be disturbed by drunks or the ubiquitous bar girls. Take the family and taste better Oz tucker than in Oz.
