“Good small hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2012

This is my first visit to Dhaka and stayed at Platinum Suites from reading the reviews. I made my reservation directly and when I arrived at the airport a representative from the hotel received me and processed my visa. All I had to do was wait. He also waited for my bags with me and got the transport for the hotel ready right the moment we got my bags. The hotel is small but very clean. I got a small suite which offers a nice setting for my stay and doing business. Breakfast although not superior is good. The coffee shop is excellent and the coffee is great. The restaurant at the roof top is good although is not open every night, depending on the rain. I think the fact that I am here during Ramadan has something to do with it as well. Internet connection is as good as you can get in Dhaka. All the staff is very friendly and the reservations team is very flexible and attentive to my needs. I am coming to the end of my 21-day stay and I plan to stay here during my next trip in about three weeks. I recommend the hotel to any business traveler looking for excellent service at a good price.

Recommend this hotel for longer stays in Dhaka, clean, comfortable & very friendly staff. Well located in Dhaka & will definitely stay again.

Room Tip: Choose room at back of hotel if you can to avoid street noise.

Arrived Dhaka on 15 June 2012 and Departed on 19 June 2012

Back in Platinum Suites Hotel, Dhaka Bangladesh made me feel at home away from home.

Most staff is still there since my 1st visit to this hotel. And most of them still recognise me although some may not be remembering my name - I didn’t expect they will remember my name anyway…

I must say that the standard of service is maintained at a very high level. SMILE is one of their key to providing excellent service.

Again, the excellent service has started from the moment I step out from the airport (the airport pick-up) until I enter the departure hall of the airport.

I must also say that… the ventilation of the restaurant MUST BE IMPROVED… hehe …

Rooms are good by Dhaka standards, and clean. Value is reasonable. Breakfast was very basic, but service was quite good. I would stay at this hotel again. Location is pretty good, and the food at the rooftop restaurant is great.

I would vote Platinum Suites as one of the best hotel in town. Very limited unit available because most room are big with a living room reasonability big bath room; 5 unit in a floor and there are only 6 levels. You may not have the 5 stars hotel feel but you will definitely enjoy the charm of the hotel.

Restaurant at the lobby level serves very good local and Indian cuisine but ventilation of the restaurant could be improved, if not necessary, don’t dress up as you will smells of curry there is a 24 hours café where a lot of young adult hang out at night, especially weekend *their weekend is Thursday and Friday. Food at the café, normal! There is a rooftop terrace where they serve dinner and there will be live singing performance by the local talent.

There are many good restaurants at this area. Get the information at the reception.

All staff is friendly, extremely friendly, helpful and informative. They will remember you from the moment you arrive at the hotel. For Malaysian, Bruneian, Indonesian and those who speak Malay, there are a few staff who speak Malay…

Please arrange for airport pick-up from the hotel, which usually chargeable and the send off to airport is included in the rate you pay. Do not attempt to adventure without arranging for airport pick-up in Dhaka International Airport… trust me!

If you are on vacation, try to arrange for transport with your agent. Personally, I will not advice for local public transport except for trishaw. Get the door man or the security at the hotel to help you for the fare before your get in one.

Try to have an open heart when you visit Dhaka. Tourism is not yet the priority… BUT the police and army is very foreigner friendly and they are protecting foreigner at all level, feel safe with them.

Oh yes, winter would be very nice to visit Dhaka

Room Tip: Smokers, get room on the 4th floor

Well located to airport, embassies and business within walking distance of several god restaurants, the Patinum Suites provide service not found sometimes with larger hotels. Room sixes vary but all are well appointed with wifi and cable, clean and spacious.
This is my fourth return to Dhaka on aid work and the Platinum Suites provide an oasis at the end of a day. No bar and no pool but roof top dining and STL (Sabir Traders Limited duty paid bonded warehouse house no 25 road 10 Gulshan ave) is open everyday except fridays and saturdays after 1030 for beer and some spirits/wines (take a passport).
