“Best hotel experience yet”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 13, 2013

My five night stay at the Fairmont in Baku was absolutely fantastic! The hotel was beautifully decorated with a modern flair throughout without being gaudy, and the rooms were spacious and had high end touches that set it apart from others I've stayed at in the past. The room was very quiet, and the shades block out practically all the light if you're trying to sleep during the day. While the hotel still has some construction ongoing, it did not impact our stay, and was practically unnoticeable. It is promising that the other restaurants and features of the hotel will be equally superb once they are completed. The food from the Bistro restaurant was excellent, and the drinks in the Nur lounge were unique and delicious. The most significant difference that made an impact on me, and really is what made the stay so enjoyable, is the professionalism, warmth, and hospitality of all the staff. We were made to feel as if we were the only guests staying at the hotel by the personal attention given by the staff. They will go out of their way to make your stay as comfortable as possible, and help you find whatever you need during your stay. Other hotels should take a lesson from them. There are hotels which are closer to downtown, but honestly, it only takes a couple of minutes to walk downtown, and I don't think you'll find one better. Can't wait to return.

Room Tip: The rooms facing the sea offer a fantastic sunrise view!

Dear James H

Thank you for your positive feedback about your stay at Fairmont Baku and so pleased you found our services and facilities to your liking. We have already received many positive comments about our bedrooms, the views and facilities and I am pleased that you found that the shades and curtains blocked out the light well for sleeping. We were also pleased to read that you enjoyed the food and services in our Restaurant and that you found our team to be very welcoming and hospitable. Indeed our location is very good and just a short walk from the old town and the Boulevard and with the whole Flame Towers Complex due to be complete by next year there will be many attractions within a short walking distance from the Hotel. Thanks again for your positive feedback and we hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you back soon.

During my many years of travel, I've had the pleasure of staying at some good to very good hotels; however, I'd never stay in what I would consider an excellent hotel until now! I can honestly say that the Fairmont, Baku is the best ever! Everything about the Fairmont is nothing less than awesome. The staff was the most professional/kindest that I had ever come in contact with! The food was excellent, and for the first time, I found a chef who could make an omelet better than me! You guys are "simply the best."

Incredible Hotel with nice location, very easy to reach the city center around the maiden tower. Restaurat was fantastic and executive chef is an artist. Every dish comes out as a piece of art.

Nur lounge has an incredible design and beautiful and polite people, make sure to taste cocktails if you are there bartenders are some of the best around town.

The rooms are hi tech with beautiful batrhroom, the whole experience from the check in to departure was unforgetable. Highly recomended hotel by all means

Room Tip: Make Sure yo get the room with sea Vew

Dear Danijel J

Thanks for your kind comments and very positive feedback and we are pleased to hear that you enjoyed our new Hotel and its facilities. We recently opened the Hotel and our Executive Chef and his team are creating some great local and international dishes for all our customers to enjoy and so pleased that you enjoyed the meals during your stay. We plan to have 7 Restaurants and Bars altogether when all our outlets are open so will have plenty for our guests to choose from. Also very pleased to hear that you enjoyed our cocktails which have become something of a signature in Nur Lounge since we opened. We have a specially created list of cocktails for our guests to choose from and these are perfect for this lovely summer weather here in Baku. Thanks again for your comments and we hope to welcome you back again in the near future. Adrian Ellis, General Manager

This will no doubt be one of the most photographed new hotels in the world. The "flame" design is nothing short of iconic. The light show, viewable across the city each evening, is remarkable. My experience at the hotel was exceptional. I enjoyed the outdoor patio in the evening, very good restaurant and impressive, large guestroom.

Room Tip: Ask for a Caspian Sea view!

I went there with a group of colleagues last to to try the bar and Le Bistro restaurant.

An amazing experience sitting outside under one of the Flame towers on a warm Summer evening. Lots of water features

The food was first rate, as you would expect from a Fairmont. The four of us chose different courses and we were all pleased with our food. The local Azeri wine has been well selected by the F&B manager.

The staff were well trained, but at times could be a little too fussy. I know it is always difficult to find the right balance, especially in a new hotel!

Our only common dislike was the very loud disco in the outside area which made conversation fairly difficult at times. However the music was really good, very Cafe Del Mar! I guess if we go back, we have the option of sitting inside.

When I first saw the Build It Bigger program about the Heydar Aliyev Cultural Centre and the Flame Towers in Baku I knew I someday had to see both of these amazing buildings. And now that Fairmont has opened a hotel in one of the already iconic Flame Towers, I actually got to stay in one of them!

The buildings dominate the skyline, but the experience is friendly, warm, and genuinely welcoming. The staff are obviously bursting with pride to work at this gorgeous hotel. The finishings in the guest rooms are truly of the highest quality. The guest room is absolutely perfect for a frequent business traveler...and the panoramic views of the Caspian Sea certainly add to the experience.

When you stay you need to take time to explore the art collection. It is a captivating compliment to the very modern interior design, yet it adds an element of culture and story telling that reflects the Azerbaijani respect for history, art, and expressive culture.

As a traveler who jets around 100,000 miles a year, I am not easily wowed by a hotel's physical product. This one took my breath away starting with the miles of crystals in the lobby chandelier and ending with my last view of the Flame Towers illuminated at night as I was en route to the airport. I cannot wait to return!

Room Tip: Ask for a Caspian Sea view room! The sea is beautiful during the day and the lights of the city at n...
