“Surprisingly good.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 8, 2013 via mobile

Was in Baku for a week and found the place great. The hotels a little bit away from where it all happens, but get a black cab and it's fairly cheap. Had a room on the 3rd floor and found the rooms to have everything you could want, spacious, lovely bathroom, comfy beds, free wifi etc. would recommend or certainly put it down as a hotel to consider when going again.

For the most part, I loved this place.

The rooms were outstanding. The interior design and furnishings were nice earth tones. I stayed in a standard room and a suite. They were both large and roomy. The bathroom was a good size and with a nice shower and sink.

The staff was helpful and friendly. The went out of their way. I have no criticisms of them.

The breakfast was great. The fresh squeezed juice and coffee were really good. There was a huge selection of items. They even had scrambled eggs and omelets.

My main criticism of this place is the location. It is out of the way. You will need to find a way to get to the more interesting places in Baku from here other than by foot.

Baku is pricey for nice hotels and Qafqaz is no exception. But it is very nice, modern, clean and fast good internet. We had great, helpful service with English speaking staff. It was well-appointed and very comfortable. The breakfast was most outstanding with wide choices. The bar lounge was a pleasant place to meet friends and have a drink. While it is away from the city centre, a taxi to the centre or the Old City tourist sites was only about 5 Euros. A grocery is a 3 minute walk away.

Staged there for 3 and1 Night and it was a pleasure. Very niece and big rooms and very good and attentive staff. Its half an hours from the City centre and that might be a bit far. OSCE did a reception for us at the roof restaurant and terrasse and we never fell short on for nor drinks.

Quite comfortable though the bed is a bid hard and it is not easy to get used to. The rooms are clean. Do not be impressed by the photos on their site. The rooms, though spacious, are smaller but again comfortable. Internet is fast and adequate. It is next to a very busy road but once windows are closed real shut, the noise of the traffic (and the never ending sounding of horns) are eliminated. Reception is quite friendly and very willing to help. They give you good advice on anything you care to ask. Breakfast is good and you can have free coffee even while waiting to be picked up.

Room Tip: Try to get a room away from the front so that you can let some fresh air into your room when you fee...

I was staying Qafqaz hotel for almost one month. The room was in my Top 10 in my couple of hundred hotel stays. The cleaning was absolutely good. The crew tried very hard to be professional and mostly they succeed. Breakfast was boring after first week. The roof restaurant food was nice but the service speed was a disaster! Small supermarket and pharmacy located on right hand from hotel door. Sauna department and gym was good. You could reserve your own jacuzzi and it was only for you.

Rooms good size and nice quality.
Beds are a bit hard and the plumbing was noisy. Many rooms are next to the very busy road. Internet ok.
SService was terrible, waited 1 hour for a sandwich to arrive from room service. Reception are friendly but if you want anything it will take a very long time.
Breakfast was ok but bread was not good.
