“A pleasant surprise”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

I have stayed in Hyatt in late June 2014 for a few nights and was pleasantly surprised by the facilities and hospitality. My room was on the 7th floor and it has a balcony, perfect for hot summer days but beware of the wind Baku is famous for! Breakfast is a mix of continental and American breakfast with the freshest fruits and nuts. The cappucino is lovely too. The room is clean and well kept and the laundry service is also good. There is a taxi stand just outside the hotel so you won't have to walk far to the city centre.

Room Tip: Rooms on higher floors would give a good view of the city

I have stayed at the hyatt 4 times now. While not centrally located and very few restaurants in the immediate vicinity, I really like the location. It is very safe at night and there is a nice local grocery store nearby with 3 or 4 different versions of baklava that I have frequented. Restaurant is good but pricey. Staff responds very well to comments and remembers your name. Nice gym and the Britannia pub is good for stopping by with friends or clients

I visted the Hyatt in August and December. On Both occasions I was impressed by the standard of service and cleanliness of my room. The breakfast offering will meet even the fussiest of diners expectations. The hotel restaurant although limited in choice serves beautiful food that is freshly prepared with the highest of ingredients.

Room Tip: Very good service in a quiet location

5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 9, 2014

Christmas 2013

Life abroad has many challenges, especially at festive times and perhaps most particularly at Christmas when absence from family is felt most keenly. It was a joy therefore to arrive at the Park Hyatt for Christmas lunch and be immersed in the warmth and joyful greetings of the staff and the splendid festive atmosphere which was so palpable and welcoming.

Times change in Baku as elsewhere but the excellence of the F&B offerings and service at the Hyatt Hotel is a reliable constant.

The dessert spread of the Hyatt on arrival was stunning. Traditional favourites of Christmas pudding with brandy butter and mince pie were accompanied by colourfully decorated gingerbread men, handmade individual chocolate Christmas trees and a host of inspired treats which were testament to the skill and imagination of a first rate pastry chef.

F&B Director Fadi, Executive Chef Shady, Chef Melih and their team were on hand to welcome the guests and ensure that we were aware of what was on offer.

The feeling was not so much of going to a restaurant but rather joining a large extended family for a special meal and what a spread it was. The fin de claire oysters shucked before our eyes could not have been fresher and made a wonderful starter for the seafood lovers together with prawns, mussels and home cured salmon.

The salad table was groaning with the expected selection but the asparagus and perfectly wilted endives were particularly outstanding.

The main course selections included several fish and red meat options. But it was hard to go past the traditional roast turkey and wonderful roast duck both of which were truly excellent and were carved to order by an attentive chef.

The wandering violinist added to the atmosphere and the arrival of Santa Claus captured the imagination of children and adults alike.

The usual Hyatt touches including a range of freshly baked breads, an excellent cheese selection, a full range of beverage options and knowledgeable and attentive staff all added to the occasion.

In a culture where Christmas is not widely observed, the Hyatt team could not have done more for those who wished to enjoy a traditional Christmas lunch do so so very well and in such great style.

It was a privilege to be there.
