I stayed here for nine days and, with one or two reservations, found it an excellent place to be. The staff are friendly and helpful, and after a few days the egg cook prepared what I wanted without my even needing to ask. On that note, the breakfast buffet is okay without being inspired. There was a lot there that I was unfamiliar with, and the hot items were pretty much limited to eggs.
The other restaurant, open on the top floor for lunch and dinner, provided a good menu and each time I ate there the food was excellent and well presented. The service can sometimes be a little slow, even when I was the only customer - one time I had to wait 10 minutes for a beer. And erratic - sometimes I received nuts or potato chips when I went there only for a beer, sometimes not. The outside terrace is a fine place to sit, by the way. That erratic service extended to the cups of drinking water that are supposed to be left in the room each day. On four or five days of my stay they were not. Not too difficult to get right every time, surely.
Decor is rather bland, an exercise in how many shades of brown they could come up with. But the bed was comfortable and the bathroom including a decent shower excellent. That is surely what counts the most. The floor plan on my door showed I was in one of the smallest rooms, but it was still of a decent size.
The only complaint I had was with their (free) internet connection, which on some evenings collapsed completely under the demand of a hotel full of guests. They acknowledged the problem after trying at first to blame their provider, and hopefully will do something about it. They use wireless, but cables are available.
I cannot comment on location, as the hotel was chosen for me and I was transported back and forth to where I needed to be. But it appears to be no more than a 10 minute ride from what might be termed 'downtown'. The immediate surroundings are unremarkable.
