Let me start by thanking the front desk staff for their polite and friendly service - they are the best part of the Hotel.
The good points about the hotel are comfortable rooms, nice view, gym and the outside swimming pool (the indoor pool was a little to green for comfortable swimming) - all the makings for someplace you should want to stay.
However.... Having stayed at the Ramada for 2 months I should be able to say I ate there more than 5 times (twice because it was too late for a trip down town).
The restrauant is terrible, most of the food is just reheated from frozen or out of a can - I can comfortable say that because one "Hot Meal" was served with half of it frozen at the center, not cold but actual ice. A salmon pasta disk was served with fish bones and in no way tasted fresh cooked, not something you expect. Tomato soup took 45 minutes to be delivered and the restrauant only had 3 people in it.
As for breakfast, refrigeration was seriously lacking for dairy products and someone in their wisdom removed the glass sneeze covers from over the food - ok a little petty but still...
I must also give special mention to the flies ... In this restrauant you will never dine alone, so think about what was walking over the uncovered food before you get to it! If nothing else they need a bug zapper!
In general after working a 10hr day on site, opting to get a taxi down town to have some good food and not face the disappointment of the hotel menu, is a pretty sad situation. The hotel needs to get a better restrauant service.
What else... Oh yes the "Hotel Bar" not something that should be rocket science but this hotel managed to mess this up as well.
The bar was never manned, so you would have to go and find someone if you wanted a drink - then wait - 25 minutes on one occasion.
They would not stock the beer fridge and run out of brands for days - even the local beer.
One day they even ran out of beer glasses because 4 people were drinking = 4 glasses.
I have skipped over the fact my bathroom ceiling pretty much collapsed, due to a leak, but one word to the front desk and they got it sorted out - perhaps they should be allowed to run the restrauant and bar.
Again thank you to the front desk staff - to the hotel manager, please do something about the restrauant and bar service - make the hotel what it should be, someplace you enjoyed staying - rather than be thankful you're leaving.

I stayed here for a month.
The rooms are comfortable as are the beds. Had a good view from the balcony overlooking the pool and the sea. Had a couple of issues with the room like no bottled water somedays or hand towels. Blocked toilet but apart from that everything was good. Room service is good as is the food however don't expect to get what it says on the menu. For some reason although the menu never changes the sides do. There are 3 channels in English. Had problems with the door card mutiple times.
Breakfast is good and varied and the service is generally very good.
The gym is well equipped but the weights are never racked afterwards and the pool is clean and warm.
Beach is clean and plenty of loungers.
It can get very noisy around the pool and lots of door slamming. I was often woken up in the early hours by people banging around or being "active". That really is the only downside to the hotel.
I would stay here again and probably will be in the near future and to be honest I have stayed in worse hotels in the UK!

Room Tip: Maybe a room on the top floor would help reduce the noise around the pool?

The Ramada Baku.. where do I start. The positives.. the rooms are spacious, clean and more importantly have a balcony looking out to the swimming pool and the Caspian. The air-con in the room is really good as well. The Reception staff are friendly and helpful enough. But thats where it ends I'm afraid.

The housekeeping is quite poor. I have been in the hotel for 17 days now and not once have they got it right. There's always something missing. Either they forget the coffee, sugar, milk and they've even managed to forget to replace the spoons. The low point was when both the coffee mugs werent replaced. I can understand if this sort of thing happed once a week, but I've been here for 17 days (with 11 more to go) and they havent got it right.

The Wifi at the hotel was really good for two weeks until the wireless router in my section was disconnected for some reason. On complaining about it two times to reception staff, I was assured the problem would be fixed, but alas, its been 4 days now and nothing has been done.

Lastly, the restaurant, is not without flies and mosquitoes. Breakfast was ok. They have an omlette station, but never has it been manned. The food is kept covered in containers, but no placards telling you whats in them (not that its a problem, but surely thats standard practice).
The menu is very restricted. There's a choice of 6 main courses and 3 pastas which I think is too few. Moreover, you can order the same dish every night and it never is the same. To give you an example, I ordered a steak teriyaki last week and it was strips of beef with triyaki style veggies. The same dish last night was 4 fillets of beef instead of the strips. Maybe thats they're definition of variety.

The lounge bar never has a bartender and the one time we got hold of him, he actually scowled at us for requesting a few beers. The lounge bar serve food as well, but yesterday we were told they dont, even though they have sandwiches on the menu.

All in all, this hotel does not match up to the standards set by the Ramada's in the UK (having stayed in at the Ramada in Ealing on a couple of occasions).
