“Lovely escape”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 3, 2013

This place is a lovely escape and lives up to its name. We had a nice garden bungalow which was very clean.

Expect to be really out in the middle of nowhere. There are small fishing towns around but you will probably spend most of your time in the resort, The garden is wonderful and well taken care off. The whole compound is decorated in a lovely way. The beach would be magnificant if it was not for all the dirt washed-up. The owner makes sure though, that the beach of the resort is cleaned. There are deck chairs down at the beach.

What hte hotel could improve is its meals. You pay $10 for a set menu for dinner and lunch. The food is okay but not great. Breakfast is included. No other meals or snacks are available.

If you want to kick abck for a view days and enjoy the peace and quiet, this is the place for you!

Most of the best hotel in Vietnam. Spacious rooms each have a terrace with a hammock and garden, pool or sea views. Both air conditioning and a fan are provided. Each has a personal safe and refrigerator. Water, tea and coffee are provided for free.

We had 4 nights here and it was incredibly relaxing. It's particularly quiet here and you can sleep, read and be fed some of the best food in Vietnam.

The rooms are gorgeous with stunning (really comfortable) four poster beds and they're very clean. The pool area is small but very pretty & sheltered.

One of the best things, if not the best, is the food. Three meals a day (pretty much 3 courses to every meal) all included in the room price. It was really lovely to not have to choose but to be served a whole range of food I may never have ordered.

The only down side is the beach, not directly outside the hotel - which is clean - but beyond. It would be great if the hotel could create a job for someone to comb the whole beach everyday. It would make a big difference.

Other than that, it is a lovely place to stay. Especially if you're unlucky with the weather - which we were!

My girlfriend and I stayed 3 days here after traveling through Halong Bay and Sapa. We were hoping for a few days away from tourists to relax and enjoy a little time to ourselves. We booked Ki-Em after reading about it in Lonely Planet (which understated this incredible find). We arrived after our 90 minute taxi ride to be greeted with fresh orange juice and a walk through a serene, spa-like retreat to our ocean view beach villa. We've traveled around the world and I can say that we've never received such 5-star service as this. The villa was fantastic, the service impeccable and the cuisine simply amazing. We enjoyed the place with only one other couple - nice for us but a disappointment given how this place should be booked up solid for months in advance. It's that great. Relax, sleep, read, get massages, and enjoy the ocean. This resort (small and cozy) comes highly recommended. We couldn't have been happier.

Room Tip: The beach villas are great. The garden villas are equally nice.

The peace and quiet and lack of anything else to do are the reason for coming here. It is magnificently serene. Read books, walk on the beach, photograph the fisherman at dawn, eat lunch, have a nap, repeat till fade. Sometimes life just does not have to be more complicated. There is no fuss, just fresh air and simple but hearty food. If you want something more there are thousands of look-a-like places to go to. But Ki-Em has a very special beat to it, so subtle that you may miss it if you are moving too fast.

I have stayed one week end at Ki-Em art resort and it was very good.

We were the only guests and it made our stay even better.
The rooms and common builidings are finely decorated with some pieces of art of the owner.

Spa and swimming pool are perfect to relax in the afternoon. The beach in front of the resort is clean and when we were there the weather was perfect.

Staff is very helpful. They do their best to provide with everything.

An amazing place to relax. For me, the best hotel experience in Vietnam.

Just the pick-up service from airport is a bit too expensive and you might go there by your own.

This place made a very good impression upon arrival as the grounds were lovely and the accomodations were clean. the meals were vegetarian and delicious and served by a pleasant dining staff. the spa was world class with an experience masseuse and was a great value. The beach had a lot of debris and trash, however not as much as the adjacent resort. The water was incredibly warm from early morning until late evening.
Unfortunately, the management is young and inexperienced and focused solely on profit. He did not attend to our basic needs, such as, arranging for luggage to be brought up from the room (we had to carry our own). Also, I found that he was unknowledgable in answering simple questions we asked about the local area.
To sum up this resort, I would say it was a clean accomodation, with friendly and attentive local staff, however a place that will nickel and dime you for hidden charges.
The wine list was deceivingly presented and very overpriced as were other beverages. Internet use was charged an exorbitant amount after 30 min. of usage, taxi markup was near double getting there on our own. Also, upon check out, it was dissapointing to discover that their unofficial usd to Vietnam dong conversion rate was significantly higher than the actual rate for that day.
