This hotel has a great beach front location, we stayed at the hotel for a rest during our tour of Vietnam and found it was an excellent place, you could reach Nha Trang on foot or by taxi, and reception will offer good advice on restaurants to visit.
All the facilities at the hotel were excellent we had a Garden View room it had everything you would expect from a 5 star hotel and it was very comfortable, we had a problem with hot water which was attended to immediately.
The buffet breakfast was very good and catered for all tastes.
We would certainly stay there again when in Vietnam.

Stayed here for 4 nights in November. Weather, as to be expected at this time of year was a mixture of sunshine and spectacular showers, but the resort was still a fantastic place to stay.

The staff were extremely friendly, courteous and helpful at all times, and the Garden View room we had was very comfortable, with plenty of space and privacy. We did on arrival look at the other room options as we considered upgrading but decided there was no need.

Beach was lovely although the sea was pretty choppy and cloudy at this time of year. The two resort pools were excellent as were the bars and restaurants.

Nha Trang had plenty to offer also and was very reachable on foot from the resort.

Can highly recommend staying here, and can also suggest that Garden View rooms are best value for money.

Dear RiciB,

Thank you for posting your review, Nha Trang has the privilege of having the best micro climate in Vietnam.

The best part of staying with us is that you can enjoy the best of both worlds, the calm and peaceful oasis and the quaint town of Nha Trang, which is walkable distance from the resort.

Thank you for mentioning our facilities and our personalized service. We look forward to welcoming you back soon.

We visited the Evason Ana Mandara Nha Trang for 3 nights in November. We chose a beachfront suite and were quite glad we did. The constant sound of the waves lulled us to sleep every night. This resort is understated, generally environmentally friendly, comfortable and cosy.

The Arrival:
We made arrangements to be met at the airport by a private car. The hotel representative greeted us as we entered the terminal and assisted with luggage (from caroussel to waiting SUV). Scented cold towels and cold water were offered in the car on the way to the hotel, about a 40 minute drive, mostly along the coast and through a small mountain range. The views along the way were spectacular. Upon arrival at the hotel, our hostess brought us to the lobby lounge and offerd us a drink and snacks while she checked us in. As our room was not yet ready (though it was already almost 16:00), we were escorted to the pool bar for another complimentary drink and snacks. Once we were finally able to access our room, a second bowl of fresh fruit was delivered to the room to compensate for the lateness.

The Room:
We chose a beachfront suite (the most expensive room at this resort). Note that the room is not a suite by any standard definition, but a somewhat larger guest room. The deep rich wood tones made for a very warm comfortable feeling, as did the four-poster king-size bed draped in mosquito netting (which thankfully was not really needed.) The bed was very comfortable, but it was odd that the hotel does not have sheets or duvets that are big enough for the bed, but used two overlapping sheets and duvets which was a bit odd and awkward. You'd think that at almost US$500 per night, they could find sheets that fit the bed (I've stayed in hotels with bigger beds that had sheets that fit). The room does look a bit worn, but that has a lot to do with the beachfront location, damp salt air, and sand scratched floors. The beachside porch had a day bed and table/chairs that made it a great place to lounge and stay out of the sun. The not-so-private garden had two sun loungers, but we chose the loungers on the beach itself, a few metres away. The room had plenty of storage and an abundance of hangers (which is a nice touch). The bathroom was clean, but definitely dated and most probably original. The floors, bathtub and countertop were terrazzo and have seen better days -- definitely time for an upgrade. The outdoor shower is always a nice addition, but it would have been nice to have hot water available. I'm not much of a cold/cool shower lover, even in the tropics. The TV provided a few good international channels and a DVD player was available (with lots of DVD's to chose from in the hotel's library.) The mini bar selection was adequate and was stocked as per my pre-registration requests.

The Breakfast:
The "complimentary" breakfast was good. The selection was more than adequate. The dim sum was excellent, especially the steamed bun stuffed with quails egg and sausage meat. The pho station was outstanding (their soup is among the best I've had in Vietnam). The egg station was good and omelets were well prepared. The bacon was good (not sure where they buy it because it's far better than anything available at local grocery stores). Sausages were all good, particularly the beef sausage which had the flavour of a mild merguez sausage. Other items included beautiful breads and pastries, charcutteries, cheeses, sushi, pickles, jams and spreads, and plenty of fresh fruit, fruit juices, cereals, etc.)

The Beachfront Restaurant:
We took our lunches (all three of them) at the beachfront restaurant. The selection was good, the food better. The burger was topped with Vietnamese herbs -- nice touch. The seafood fried rice was outstanding. Presentation was as top notch as the quality of the food.

The Pavilion Restaurant:
We took our dinners (all three of them) at the Pavilion restaurant. On the night of our arrival, the restaurant had a lobster/seafood BBQ buffer, for which we opted, but were ultimately dissapointed. The lobster was dry and tasted more of charcoal than lobster, and had not been seasonned at all. The rest of the buffet was adequate, but nothing to write home about. I would definitely not chose this in the future. Our other two dinners were a la carte, which were both outstanding. The appetizers were excellent (seafood sampler (our favourite), soft shell crab in a fresh gaspacho, carpachio of beef done two ways, and sesame encrusted shrimp (our least favourite). The main courses were excellent to outstanding (black-angus ribeye, lobster basted in garlic butter, rack of lamb, lobster risotto). Deserts were delightful. Presentation was beautiful and service was attentive. Prices were very reasonable.

The gardens/pools:
The resorts two pools and extensive gardens were delightful. The gardens are well maintained and groomed. The infinity pool is very large and was never overly busy.

The beach:
Throughout our stay, the resort had the red flag flying which meant that swimming in the ocean was not recommended. When we arrived, a tropical storm had just passed and had left the beach a bit worse for wear, though the hotel's team did their best to keep things clean. The same could not be said of the beach once you left the resort. Large waves dropped much garbage along the beach, including plasic bags, razors, etc. The hotel's beach was kept much cleaner but this was a non-stop chore with the steady stream of large waves. Overnight on Saturday, typhoon Haiyan passed off shore bringing with it waves and a storm surge that reached the seawall in front of our cottage. Nevertheless, the following morning, the hotel's staff had the whole beachfront cleared withing hours. The sand is not the soft white powder you see in nearby Cam Ranh, but it was walkable without shoes.

The Service:
Throughout our stay, the service team made every effort to make our stay enjoyable. The quality of English spoken at the resort is more than adequate, particularly given most of the guests were Eastern European, with a few westerners thrown in for good measure. Service staff made every effort to call us by name, which is a nice touch knowing that our names are not always easy to pronounce.

The Shopping:
The resort has a few nice shops, including one clothing shop that had beautiful beach wear. Not having our sizes and colours available, the shop was able to bring over a local seamstress who tailor made 6 different items for us and had them delivered well in advance of our departure, at very reasonable prices.

All in all, our experience at the Evason Ana Mandara was delightful. We would certainly recomnmend it, and will most probably return.

Room Tip: If you can afford it, chose a beachfront room (beachfront suites have private gardens and more direc...

For us this was rest and recreation after a very busy tour of Vietnam.
What a wonderful place! Our room was facing the beach and swimming in the South China Sea was brilliant. We didn't leave for 3 days. Food is excellent and to every taste. We majored on the Vietnamese but strayed onto excellent International fine dining. Service impeccable. Facilities great. Oriental Massage in the Spa was superb. We both enjoyed a massage. The staff were lovely and so helpful without being OTT.
Sadly, 80% of the guests were Russian. They were arrogant, surly and rude to the staff. They totally ignored us when we tried to speak to them so we just kept away from them and so they didn't spoil our stay at all. I have had good experiences of Russians in the past so this surprised me.
There were very nice Korean, German, Thai and British people to speak to. Not to mention the staff who were just great.
We think that this is one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in and intend to return as soon as possible.

Room Tip: Superior Sea view rooms are great.

I found myself repeatedly saying this at this lovely beach side resort. The beach is glorious with countless views begging to be photographed. The hotel restaurant sits above the beach with romantic tables for two in the open air with wonderful sea views., Vietnamese A la Carte dinner was excellent and very reasonably priced - although we had to specifically request the menu as we were only offered the Western menu. Wonderful breakfast with huge selection of Western and local food.
Nice tennis court with very reasonably priced and helpful coaching.
We only stayed two nights (on Tauck tour) but there were lots of activities/trips available if we had stayed longer

Room Tip: We splashed out on a beach front suite - well worth the supplement as the room itself was bugger tha...

We stayed at the Evason after being evacuated from our hotel in Hoi An from a Typhoon. While one of the pools was undergoing constructions we found the hotel to be fantastic and very accommodating for our overly energetic 2.5 year old. They were extremely kid friendly. The meals were probably some of the best I have had in Vietnam. While yes some of the decor is a little dated or perhaps rustic and the room sizes were small, overall I thought it was a fantastic hotel which really thought of the small touches that others don't.
They even delivered a bottle of champagne to our room to after realising my husband had stayed there 6years ago.
I would definitely return.

Dear Carla G,

I am so sorry that you stayed during the days we were doing our maintenance to our infinity pool, but this needs to be done on a regular basis in order to guarantee the quality of the water and swimming conditions. Glad that you were able to enjoy our second pool and jacuzzi.

We are definitely kids friendly. Now that you are in our repeaters guests list, we sincerely hope you and your family will be able to visit us again real soon. We shall look forward to your return.
