“Nice service, not many beach chairs”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 26, 2013

We spent a nice time at the Sheraton. First we were a little disappointed because the hotel is not directly at the beach but there is a big, heavy traffic street infront of the hotel. But that is the way of living and building in Nha Trang, so that is quite normal.
It is also normal that you need help to cross the streets because the vietnamese drive very ruthless.
The private hotel beach is nice but also very small and sometimes very crowded and it can be hard to find a beach chair because there are only 15 to 20 chairs for hundereds of guests.
We booked the executive floor. The snacks were always the same, nothing special.
Besides there was some construction going on next to the hotel and therefore it was very loud at the nice pool.
All in all the hotel is clean, the staff friendly and the food was good, too.

Dear “BVBBaden”,

Thank you for sharing your reviews of your stay at Sheraton Nha Trang Hotel & Spa.

In relation to the limited beach chairs, unfortunately this is a public beach and we are only provided a licence for a set number of umbrellas and chairs.

We hope to welcome you back to Sheraton Nha Trang Hotel & Spa in the near future.

Warm Regards.

The Team.

we checked in at the Sheraton using SPG points. we got upgraded to a premium room with two balconies with sea view. The room has a fairly good size. The bathroom is gorgeous. Lying in the bathtub, you can gaze at the ocean!
The bed is very comfortable. Two arm chairs and a coffee table are provided as well as a coffee machine, ground coffee and tea, bottle water, fridge, safety box....AC is central and quiet. This hotel has all the safety features of a north american high rise building. The outdoor pool is medium size, a little bit cold as there is constantly a little breeze on the 6th floor. The hotel has beach chairs and even a crossing guard to help guests getting to the beach.
Staff are very polite and helpful. Special mention to the duty manager.
Wi Fi is only free on the ground floor around the reception desk.
All in all, it is a very good hotel in a prime sector of Nha Trang.

Room Tip: The higher the better as it is quieter.

I was a littler surprised that this is considered a 5 Star Resort especially since it is competing against high Asia standards. This review is going to jump all over the place so you can get the details. We checked in and were upgraded to a large suite with two balconies and a great view of the ocean. That was awesome. Our bags never came to our room which was strange. It was like there wasn't a "system". We called down and eventually got our bags. Breakfast was huge. They had everything you could want. The spa was a nice hotel spa. It didn't have any real extra amenities. The pool was nice to lay on the beds in the water. The bar on the roof has amazing views but ZERO atmosphere. The dim sum restaurant...well we were the only one in there during peak lunch hours. Food was ok. Still haven't received my Starwood Points either.

We appreciate your feedback regarding ‘luggage service” and apologise for the delay and we will review our operating procedures with the team.

We are not sure what day you went to Altitude, as we do have a DJ every Wednesday to Saturday from 8.00pm to 11:00pm every Wednesday to Saturday. That been said we may look at renewing the area this year.

We got a room at the Nha Trang Sheraton for 3 nights in late December, 2012 from my brother in law who used his reward points to get the room:

• Location is away from main area, a bit of a walk (about 10 minutes)
• Our room was on a high floor, with a gorgeous ocean view
• The room was adequate size and had all the amenities – AC, TV, phone, coffee. Wifi worked okay
• The room had two double beds, and we had wanted a king bed, so we pushed the two beds together; it worked great and wider than even a king bed
• The glass wall separating bathroom and bedroom is a unique design. It’s an interesting concept, but provides little privacy, as even when drawn, its curtain can be seen through with the bathroom light on
• Bathroom sink and toilet are by American Standard, a lower-end brand for bathroom hardware. I find this puzzling and disappointing for such a nice 5* hotel such as this Sheraton. On the same trip, we stayed in a number of 3* hotels that had better brand bathroom hardware (Toto)
• The beach across Tran Phu (main beach thoroughfare) from the Sheraton is very nice, nicer than the other beaches nearby it seemed
• The hotel pool is smaller than I had expected. However, most in my multi-family traveling party seemed to enjoy it, so it’s a plus. Ice cream at pool side is available for purchase, but is expensive
• I cannot comment on breakfast quality because we did not have it. When asked about breakfast, the front desk said that my room was booked using reward points and did not come with free breakfast, and they did not seem to want to offer us a complimentary breakfast. I was puzzled by that as all other hotels we stayed at during our 3-week trip provided breakfast with the room booked. They did mention something about $30 for breakfast, which I promptly walked away, thinking what an outrageous price for breakfast for a hotel in a small city in a third world country

I enjoyed my stay at this hotel, in large part because I didn’t have to pay for the room. If I had to pay full price, I probably would have passed it for another hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for room on high floor with ocean view.

I can't say anything bad about this hotel, but it's just not really me. Check in was slow, but the staff were nice. The concierge was wicked. Decent breakfast, good pool, clean, but just a bit sterile. The guests were a mix of American, Japanese and a lot of Russians. Oh, the lifts were really slow and annoying. Bar on rooftop was quiet and had a lot of kids in it. But it's fine. Just caking. Bit of personality...

The service at this hotel is shocking. I waited almost 2 hours for room service one night during which time they stuffed up the order 4 times!! In the end I just said yes to having the wrong wine as I was tired of the staff coming back and forth especially when I was clearly pointing to the wine on the wine list.

When I called the front desk the wait on the phone was 7 minutes at one stage.

The concierge were not friendly and the rooms were quite so so, they gave two small beds instead of one and then couldn't fix it until the next night.

Lunch took 50mins to serve even though there were only 3 other people in the restaurant and most staff spoke very little English (not enough to work in hospitality).

Overall this was a very disappointing hotel and not worth the money, the only good feature was the breakfast buffet which was fantastic.

Thank you for sharing your experience on TripAdvisor.

Once again we apologise that we did not meet your expectations during your stay.

We will follow up with the team and have a full investigation about the late room service and lunch order.

Regarding the English skill of our team, English is not their native language and it is sometimes difficult for them to accustom to the different accents of our guests. As part of the teams ongoing development we provide all our associates English lessons and we are proud of how much they embrace learning and their progression to date.

We wish to you all the best

Warm Greetings.

On a impromptus beach relaxing get-away with my cousin and we decided to try a less popular beach destination. Years of traveling kinda developed an inclination to trust reputable international hotel chains. Once again, Sheraton has not failed my expectations.
It was rather easy to spot this hotel from a distance since Nha Trang does not have many high rise buildings, yet. Its located right across the beach and Sheraton has a portion of the beach (right in front the hotel) being sectioned out as a "private beach area for Sheraton guests".
Our check-in was "highlighted" with the unexpected personal greetings from the General Manager, Ms Catherine. After a few pleasantries exchange, we were escorted to the Lounge on 25th floor. Lounge provides a brilliant view of Nha Trang beach and town. Light snacks were yummy! A nice selection of red and white wines. Evening services available from 5 to 7.30pm. It was a welcoming treat, especially having to spend more than 10 hours traveling SIN - HCMC- Nha Trang.
Room is of a decent size with a nice balcony that has a brilliant view of the sea and beach. Love it! Shower area has a separate balcony that offers similar view. Love it too! Fit out and room renovation were typical of Sheraton. Its a new hotel of around 2-3 years old, so things were still new.
Breakfast buffet was sumptuous. Offers international selection and local delicacies. We had such good, hearty and full breakfast that it lasted us till late afternoon!
Concierge provides good tours options and was prompt in helping guests to arrange car transfers, tour packages and tips to get around Nha Trang.
Staffs were friendly and quite prompt with the services. Most staffs were able to speak decently good English. When I visit Nha Trang again, will definitely check in at Sheraton.

Room Tip: Ask for a mid-level room with sea view.
