“Comfy Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 7, 2014

We stayed here for one night in January 2014. The hotel was very clean, the bedroom was spacious and the staff very friendly and attentive. The little biscuits given to us at turn down were lovely.

Breakfast was very good. Lots of choice and everything was fresh.

The hotel was in a good location. Local bars and restaurants were just a few minutes walk away.

All in all a decent comfy hotel.

A quaint hotel staffed mainly by catering/tourism students in their second year. There are only currently 12 bedrooms in use as the place is under refurbishment including the pool. Don’t let this put you off though as we had an enormous room with ensuite. It was very comfortable with all the facilities one would want. Super fast wifi in rooms. What more could you want! We slept in the largest bed ever which was very comfortable with good pillows and cotton sheets/ duvet.
We stayed here two nights whilst travelling with Buffalo tours. The hotel is located 5 mins walk from the Perfume river and near to other hotels and plenty of restaurants. We recommend Little Italy restaurant, right out of hotel and first right then 100 metres on right.
The breakfasts are a la carte and served by nervous youngsters with limited English but their supervisors were always there to iron out any wrinkles. It all added to the quaintness of this excellent place. We used the bar for drinks and had some fantastic cocktails for little over £1 but decided not to dine there as there was so much choice elsewhere and also that the dining room was empty.
The only warning I would give is that due to the refurbishments going on at the rear that the man with angle grinder starts work at between 7-8 (even on Sunday) but having been in Vietnam for nearly a week by then we were used to constant hubbub, dogs, cockerels, beep beeps etc. so it did not affect us at all.
With the small proviso of the refurbs we would thoroughly recommend Villa Hue as a comfortable, if different, short stay in Hue.

Well situated, this hotel with spacious rooms lacks atmosphere and customers in the low season. It is being expanded at the moment, so the swimming pool is closed and the noise starts at 6 am. The staff were friendly and did their best, but the overall experience was disappointing.

Room Tip: Check if they are still renovating this place

This is a great hotel for exploring th lovely city of Hue, situated in a quite side street, but a short walk from restaurants and bars.
The hotel is staffed by mainly second year tourism students, but are more than adequate to carry out there duties and are anxious to please.
Breakfast is very good but, at times when ordering set items from the menu these were misunderstood and came in the wrong order, on saying that the food and service was excellent.
On our wedding anniversary they had been informed by our agent and surprised us with a huge cake made by the students.
The only downside is that there is no pool, but it's not on my essential list anyway.
An enjoyable 3 nights.

We stayed in Villa Hue for just one night whilst visiting this amazing town. In fact, we're pretty sure we were the only ones staying there that night. We never saw anyone else in the restaurant or the lobby. I can only guess that it was the lack of paying guests that prevented management from turning on the airconditioning in the lobby or hallways, and making the decision to minimise the breakfast options available.

The hotel is ideally located - very close to the restaurant hub of Hue - where there's an amazing range of cuisines to choose from. And I can thoroughly recommend Huda beer!

The hotel is clean and safe, but there's a soullessness to it. I will certainly be looking elsewhere next time I'm in town.

Villa Hue is a training hotel, which we knew and was one of the reasons we chose it. There is an attached college and the actual hotel building is currently being extended to double it bedrooms. There is a large barrier to the building work, but you are obviously aware of this during the daytime and it is not comfortable to use the outside sitting area. This didn't bother us unduly as we were out most of the days and it is a lovely authentic hotel with most helpful staff. Food in the restaurant was also excellent, but a shame that it was not well used (in fact we were the only people in the dining room the evening we ate there). Hopefully this will change when the hotel is relaunched after the building work.

Although the staff (trainees) don't speak much English, they're totally make it up through their kindness. Fruits basket (mango, passion fruit, bananas) is re-filled every morning, you get a free cake (amazing) voucher and cookies every night. Breakfast is "à la carte" but you can choose pretty much everything as much as you want so it's like a buffet where you don't have to get up your chair! Breakfast food is great. Air conditioning is super quiet (which is not so common in Vietnam). Many good restaurants (including the great Family Home Restaurant) within 10min walk.

Room Tip: Get a room on the top (3rd) floor.
