Stayed here for 3 nights on a trip to vietnam and Cambodia with parents.
Its a new hotel, the rooms are good with excellent views. We were given a corner room on the 11th floor and the views were really superb.
The breakfast was good, other than that we had a a couple of meals from room service, not much choice for vegetarians - just pizza and pasta.
The travel desk is very helpful. They arranged tickets folk music show on a boat. We dint understand a word but it was a great experience. Its not a touristy attraction for foreigners, in fact we were the only non-Vietnamese on the boat. It was a bit weird initially but in the end we really enjoyed it. Would definitely recommend that. The travel desk also recommended a couple of good vegetarian restaurants in town. In fact vegetarian food choice in Hue is excellent, being relatively conservative and religious in vietnam.

They call themselves the 1st 5 star in Hue (note they don't say the only 5 star), and they do try to live up to the billing. The airport transfer was complimentary and very rare (I've been to at least 100 hotels). The room is large and has a mixture of modern trappings (though the tv is still not flat panel/lcd/plasma yet) and traditional artistry. The breakfast buffet has a large spread, but what impressed me was the service - how they try and help you with carrying extra glasses etc. This may be because the breakfast restaurant is rather empty, but I liked the extra service touches nevertheless. And, it also came with the low room rate of USD100. A glitch in this hotel is that they have the thinnest walls. I can hear the phone ring and tv sounds from my neighbours, which can be a pain if you need absolute peace and quiet.

All the people we encountered were charming and helpful and we loved our room..wonderful breakfasts and a great situation...we would definitely go back ...I had a great swim before breakfast and used some of the exercise equipment. But dinner was a disaster!!! We were tired after a very long day and decided to eat in.. My wife and I ordered 2 small first courses and 2 main courses..well the main courses came..(no starter) that was fine and then the same thing came a second time!!! Our order was taken correctly but somehow a foul up between dining room and kitchen..and to be honest my calamari tasted like leather and the shrimp totally dried out. The menu is far too long..the chef should go to the market each day and just provide a few courses but of fresh ingredients. So I would definitely stay in the hotel and would recommend it but have dinner out.

  • Liked — high quality of everything and the staff
  • Disliked — the dining room for dinner

We stayed at the Imperial for 2 nights as part of a tour it was by far the best hotel we had stayed in so far. The rooms were very colonial in their look, lots of dark wood. very big, nice bathroom. there were complimentary bathrobes and slippers. . Breakfast was buffet style, and was nice. We ate in the Japanese restaurant, reasonably priced, the service was very good.m, and also in the restaurant which was on the roof. There is also a good bar up there as well, with good views of the city. Nice pool, and a good location. I would definately recommend this hotel.
