We didn't have a flight until afternoon, so our tour leader had the bus take us to this 16C. bridge half hr. outside Hue. It was one of the high points of our trip. Located in a small village in the middle of huge rice fields, we were able to walk along the road and watch the farmers plough, level and plant rice. Some came over to show us the sprouted rice seedlings. The bridge was interesting & beautiful and the nearby Rice growing museum was really interesting. The old lady who shows you around speaks no English, but demonstrates, sometimes with song, every phase of rice harvest from gathering to grinding fine rice powder. She was delightful, should be classified a national treasure!
