“Other dishes are better than pho here!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 9, 2012

This place is popular among locals and tourists assumingly as most guidebooks mention this place. It is located near the Vietnam Airlines office, not far from Park View Hotel. Unlike Pham Ngu Lao street, you do not see so many restaurants in this area, so if you are in this area, probably this place is one of the few good options to take.

Although it is called PHO Sai Gon (FYI, pho is originally from Hanoi!), pho is mediocre here. BUT, other dishes are much better. Try, for instance, Vietnamese beef steak (bo bit tet) or special fried egg on hot pan (my op la). Roasted duck/chicken (vit/ga quay) is also nice. If you still want to go for noodles, try one of egg noodle dishes (name startnig with "mee" are the ones - like mee tap cam = egg noodles in soup with mixed toppings).

One more hidden good item here is passion fruit juice. It comes with crushed ice, which is quite refreshing, especially during the hot & humid Hue summer. Don't miss this one!

“A little slice of heaven”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 22, 2012

We found this wonderful place right next to the first hotel we stayed at in Hue.(see my review on it) It was so good we ate here several times over a couple of days. The food and service were some of the best we had on our trip, with the kiwi fruit juice one of the highlights of a great trip. The only downside is it distance from the main areas along the river of Hue, but please please dont let that stop you from coming here and trying their food. My favorite would have been the dumplings, one at a time is enough as they are the size of a cricket ball. But there was'nt a bad meal that we had from there and with 6 in the group and 5 or 6 meals had, we certainly tried a lot of different ones.

“Best Pho we had in Vietnam”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 27, 2012 via mobile

My bf and I both feel this was the best Pho we had in our 7 weeks in Vietnam. We still talk about it and start salivating.

I had the overlooked beef with tomato sauce and he had the pho ga. Both superb! Don't know why it's not number one for Hue.

“So so so so good!!! Big group of us ate here about 6 times :)”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 30, 2012 via mobile

This is my favorite restaurant so far from this whole trip (and I spent weeks in the USA & Philipines first also).

The food is just unbelievable and probably close to the best food I've ever eaten

The drinks definitely are the best. The kiwi vitamin juice is unbelievable.

The staff are all very helpful and most understand English. They jump to attention as soon as they see you looking at them. And there are heaps of staff so u are looked after very efficiently.

“Cheap, really good food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 27, 2012 via mobile

Street food with a touch of ambience! Very attentive service. A fun place to get fabulous pho and other treats. Dinner for six with beers came to $30!
