“Excellent hotel overall”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 20, 2013

The staff are very friendly (one might even say enthusiastic) and obliging. Free wifi in the hotel and room is fast. Room was clean and a good size. I only wish the bed and pillows were more comfortable. We did ask the day receptionist whether we could change the pillows but were told there's only 1 type. Some of the staff spoke really good English and we felt we were able to communicate well with them. Location at the backpackers area is good. Walking distance to shops and to local areas as well. Buffet breakfast is excellent with dishes rotated everyday when we were there. Eggs and noodles cooked fresh on the spot. Refills are done quickly. Roof top restaurant has a great view. Food is good. My husband is picky about hotels and he is impressed by Duc Vuong. Will return.

Room Tip: Rooms on level 7 may be noisier as its same level as the restaurant but it has an extra glass door t...

The Duc Vuong exceeded all my expectations. The service was superb, the staff are all delightful and very attentive and helpful. The room was spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated. The breakfast was fabulous with a full Vietnamese buffet and many western options too including eggs or omelettes cooked fresh on request. This was excellent value for money and I wouldn't hesitate to book here again.

Fourth time in as many years, only a brief stay after the early arrival off train from Nha Trang before flying out. Rooms around the stairs on L1 and 7 can be a bit noisy at times , although they have installed extra glass doors to help reduce this.
Staff always attentive , great roof top bar. Good spot can't go wrong, easy walking distance to various markets, not too far from most major attractions and bars.

A great hotel, for location, very friendly and welcoming staff. Breakfast is plentiful & rooms are clean and a good standard for the price range. I recommend it and will return as soon as possible. All the staff are fantastic & Jade in the Roof top bar is so helpful and friendly which for a single female traveller was a great start to a trip through Vietnam.

Room Tip: high floors away from the hustle and bustle of the street below.

Was unsure about staying in a budget hotel but it meant we could book two rooms rather than share one with our daughter. Had asked in advance if we could have two rooms near to each other but were allocated two rooms on separate floors which was disappointing. Our room was more spacious with a king size bed: other room was a double and a single. Rooms were very clean, bed comfortable but terrible lumpy pillows. Toiletries in bathroom but no soap. Unfortunately our room was opposite breakfast room and all traffic to rooftop bar had to walk passed. Noise is reduced because they have double door but still noisy when locals leave the bar somewhat tipsy. Rooms at back are quieter than being on street. Breakfast is ok, nothing great but there is a good toaster and they will fry eggs; coffee is not brilliant and staff were slow to refill the pot.
Bar at top is a nice space but one evening had too many very loud local girls. Service is excellent, Jade is a real star and quite a character.
It is the staff that make this place. They really care for guests, their safety and their needs. The other big plus is that it is clean refuge in a very busy area.
Agree with another guest that the bathroom is a bit musty and the shower is a squash to get into and then close the door. But all in all, a good experience.

Room Tip: At the back but off of a main walkway and not on main corridor of 7th floor as music and noise from...

Duc Vuong was the best value we found on the internet (thank you, tripadvisor community) on family rooms. I was pleasantly surprised that the value of our money extended well beyond a good night's sleep in this hotel.

We arrived at 1:00 am from Manila and the staff were still so perky to receive us. In the morning we headed up all groggy for the complimentary breakfast and everyone greeted us with a warm good morning and even more warm noodle soup.

This was our routine for the duration of our stay in Viet Nam -- burn our soles and pockets on tours, food and whatnots and then come home to a place where everyone was smiling, from the doorman to the wait staff the next morning.

Truly, in this hotel, we are family.

Room Tip: Rooms are grouped within elevators, better for you if your room is near the 7th floor where the dail...
