“Wifi was down!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 23, 2013

We had a room with one double bed and one single, #501. Of course it'd be better if they had one that has 2 double beds. Rain shower was great though. Everything in the room looked like a standard 3-star hotel room. Beds were comfortable.

Staff were all friendly. We booked a one-day floating market tour thru their in-house agency, US$17 per person - maybe a bit overpriced for what we've seen, which was not much...

Their roof-top restaurant is a very nice place to relax and have a drink in. Food was good, but not spectacular. They seemed to have party going on every night with very loud music, and even though we could hear it from the room, it didn't bother us much.

We stayed for couple of nights. We were told they were fixing the in-room wifi when we checked in and that the next day we would have it. But no, still no wifi when we were leaving. There's wifi and 5 computers at the lobby, but headsets were not working.

I am sorry for WIFI problem. It is working well and stabilize now. I already asked my staff to invite you a free beer or soft drink to payback the value that had been loosed. I know the WIFI is free, but I did upgrade to a higher quality to make all our guests to be satisfied. You will see the different when using it for your next visit. Thank again.

We didn't stay here but did visit the rooftop bar several times. The 8th floor bar has great views over Saigons Bui Vien Street and offers a welcome retreat from the traffic and the Bui Vien madness below. When we visited the happy hours beers were only 12000 dong, the same as the cheap street bars further on. The bar itself is nicely decorated with plants and fairy lights and the staff are really friendly. We had a great night here on Chinese new years eve and had fantastic views of the midnight fireworks!

Front desk seemed nice enough but didn't go out if their way to give advice etc but I suppose that is just standard for a busy place.

The floors are all granite and exteeeemely loud so every time someone walks past it wakes you up. THEN there is the DAMN ROOSTER that crows constantly all night into the morning. After two nights of no sleep we changed hotels which is a bit disappointing for an otherwise ok place.

Really good rooftop bar area, would have been a good value hotel otherwise. Rooms and bathrooms cleaned impeccably.

Thanks for your advice about the front desk. They promise to improve their service to make our guests to be satisfied. I also bough the DAMN ROOSTER of the neighborhood and kill it all, so they will not trouble you any more. Hope to see you soon and thank again for your advice.

this small hotel with 7 floors is located on one of the busiest narrow streets in district 1 of ho chi minh city. the service is excellent, the price is very reasonably, and within 15 minutes walking to the center of town. 24 hour 7/11 only 5 minutes away. restaurants, shops, and bars located up and down the street. i think they primarily cater to the vietnamese people and sometimes can be very noisy, especially when they play their loud music on the street and rooftop. has changed a lot over the years.

Thanks for your review. We always try our best to make our guests to be satisfied. The Garden roof-top restaurant is a good place for incredibly view of HCM city. The music is up on guests requests, so some time it is noisy. Because of this weakness, I have set up a good time for Sunset and dinner up to 8:pm with a slight and romantic music and set up a low volume for the restaurant after that. Thanks for staying at Duc Vuong hotel. Hope to see you soon.

This was a very nice hotel. The rooms where smallish but had everything you needed. The rooms in general (and bathrooms) where spotlessly clean. They have a lovely roof top restaurant with an incredibly view of the city (and great breakfasts). It was perfectly located. The staff where friendly and helpful. We would stay there again.

Room Tip: Its a little extra but ask for a room with a window.

Rooms were nice, clean and had everything you need.
Free water, bananas, tea, coffee, buffet breakfast, concierge scooter parking, location, super fast wifi and pc's were all nice nice touches that makes your stay much more comfortable but the thing that made it my favourite hotel in se asia was the staff. The people working there really make it, there so friendly and helpful and give it a homely feel rather than the your usual inpersonal hotel. I hope they are paid what they are worth.
One gripe I suppose, I booked the 7 seat hotel car (toyota fortuner) to the aitport so we could ride in style, turned out to be a knackered old corolla (or similar) from an outside taxi firm and no explanation. Had I of known I would of got a moto.

Duc vuong staff, thank you for all your efforts during my 6 days stay.

We had a pleasant stay in the Duc Vuong hotel. It is located on a busy street with lots of Vietnamese character. There cool bars and restaurants within walking distance.

The staff here were very nice and helped us to organise all of our trips in ho chi minh. They also threw all of the guests a party with free buffet food on the Saturday night. The Breakfast was reasonable but basic.

When we arrived we were informed that there was construction going on on the upper floors of the hotel. The girl at the desk offered to put us in a room on a lower floor so we would not be disturbed. I thought this was a very kind gesture as i have stayed in a lot of hotels where i was kept awake by noisy machines.
Anyway our room was fine. It was quite small, about enough space for a double bed and not much else. The bathroom was fairly basic. The shower leaked onto the floor when you took a shower but it was a minor flaw.

Overall this is an excellent budget hotel with a very kind hearted staff and i would defiantly stay here again.
