“Don't look past Hong Han!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2013

Hong Han is the only option when staying in Ho Chi Minh, located directly in the centre of Bui Ven backpackers district everything you need is within walking distance. Along with Ben Tanh market, war remnants museum and more! Anh and Nhung take great care of you, looking after your every need. They helped us booked a couple of tours which were fantastic. The breakfast was amazing and they made me feel right at home. This is the best guest house in Ho Chi Minh, hands down!

For >15$ I was able to get a great 2-person, air conditioned room with a comfortable bed, mini fridge, clean private washroom and complimentary breakfast of eggs with tomatoes and onions, vietnamese bread, bananas and coffee at a convenient location right in central District 1 of HCMC. In addition to the room amenities and location, the staff was very friendly and was able to recommend several great places to eat and tours to take. One of the (many) highlights of the city!

The staff of this small hotel are so friendly. The rooms are well maintained and clean. You do have to walk the stairs, but the hotel is perfectly located in the backpacker area. All the restaurants and bars are within walking distance. Try the plastic chairs and enjoy people walking by in the evening in one of the street bars nearby. You can also book you trips or do you laundry at a good value. Do skip however the hotel's taxi service to the airport. We were driven by a friend of the owner in a old car without airco. You will have much better service at the same price when driving with local taxi firms. But all in all, very friendly, good value and perfect location.

I agree with fellow reviewers, the Hong Han hotel was the best value hotel that we stayed in whilst traveling Vietnam. More than the value though was the level of service, the care, consideration and friendship shown to us by Anh and Nhung was simply wonderful, and we totally recommend this hotel. Great location for bia hoi and street food but just outside the maddening crowd.

Room Tip: beware the stairs...... but keeps you fit

This was our first hotel we stayed in on our 2 week trip through Vietnam and we were pleasantly surprised. After a long flight check in was simple and we were shown to a clean, large room with twin beds which we felt was excellent value for money. Breakfast was good and served on the balcony overlooking a busy street-great for a spot of people watching in the morning.

Brilliant location, which despite being on a very busy street, was still quiet at least in the rooms at the back of the hotel. We stayed on the 3rd floor and slept really well!

The best thing about this hotel though was the level of service we received-nothing was too much trouble for the friendly staff. From start to finish we felt so looked after.

You won't get better value anywhere in Vietnam!

Great little place, we were moved here for a lower floor room from Bich Duyen (affiliated)
right in the heart of the action, lovely balcony to watch the world go by and enjoy breakfast.
rooms clean & comfortable, staff really helpful and friendly. would recommend this hotel. if you are not expecting the Hilton for under $25/day, you won't be dissapointed

Room Tip: No lift, so ask for a room on lower floors unless you enjoy steep narrow stairs

Extremely happy and friendly staff that are happy to chat, organise tours, pickups, accommodation for other areas.
Room was comfortable, airconditioned and fanned, clean and tidy.
The balcony was great for relaxing and enjoying a cold drink or breakfast and watching the bustle down below.
The location was perfect because it is where all the action takes place but right on the edge so the noise wasn't a disturbance.
The overall value was great, breakfast was simple but perfectly cooked every time, we plan on coming back here.
