Was in Nha Trang and needed a place to stay in Ho Chi Minh City, and reading reviews this place seemed the best fit. When we landed domestically, the hotel sent a 15 seater bus, to come pick us up which was fantastic. The receptionist was not all that fantastic because he seemed annoyed with the questions we had to ask. There is something that people missed, or probably didn't get asked but we needed to either put down a whole room payment, or give them our passports for us to even stay at the room. That is, give them the money in full plus a little extra, or give them our passports to hold. This was a huge surprise cause I stayed at brilliant hotel and all they needed was 1/2 the cost of the first night as a down payment and the final cost would be calculated when I check out. Angered and it was only just approaching midnight and I sucked it up and gave them what little money I had in their currency as a deposit.
Another fact to remind travelers is that this hotel is divided up to like three buildings. Superior rooms are in one building, deluxe and anything above are in another building. What was fantastic about this hotel is the free buffet they offer at First Hotel, which was delicious. The restaurant (which also does room service) have three breakfast, lunch, and dinner buffets which are all awesome. Never order room service tho, because three items on room service equals the price of admission for a buffet. There is great Korean and Japanese restaurants nearby. There is a huge enough outdoor pool, but never used it because the weather wasn't so good. The biggest benefit of this place is that it has a CASINO, a legit casino. With roulette, and all the goodies, just electronic. It is only opened to passport holders of foreigners. You do have to cross a sort of busy street, but First Hotel solved this problem by hiring security/walk guards, that legit stops traffic for you to cross which wasn't a huge biggie. The view of from the rooms was a 2/5, which is not the hotel's fault because everything beside it was just taller buildings. There are some rooms whose view was just a giant white cemented wall. I would not stay at this hotel again, unless they mandate some changes to their policies.
Definitely ask what the view is like, because some rooms have a cement wall view.
