“THIS IS NOT AN AVERAGE HOTEL”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 days ago NEW

This hotel is anything but average. From the moment you arrive (there are even staff to open the doors for you) you are surrounded by luxury and service of the highest quality. Cannot rate the hotel too highly. Our room was spacious and the hotel is conveniently located. Food in the breakfast was really good. Service was such that the eggs I ordered were a little delayed - which caused me no concern but did cause concern to a number of wait staff and supervisors. I had no fewer that three people apologies for the delay. There was no problem with anything. The pool was very much welcomed and a great respite from the heat and humidity. Park Hyatt Saigon is highly recommended.

Best hotel of the 7 we stayed in during our 2 weeks in Vietnam & Cambodia - and the others were all 5 star. Our room was spacious and luxurious with a sumptous bathroom and was probably the economy version so no doubt for more money you could be even more impressed than we were. Great dining area overlooking an absolutely delightful water garden which looks stunning at night when illuminated. Just devine!

Stop searching for other hotels. If budget permits, you absolutely must stay at the Park Hyatt. Hell, even if you need to stretch it a little, it's worth it - trust me.

Let's start with location (5/5), the Park Hyatt sits right smack bang in the center of town with walking distance to many interesting things in District 1. D1 is the heart of Saigon and from here you can walk to shops, restaurants, trendy nightclubs, charming cafes and many of the offices you may need to visit on business.

The rooms (4.5/5) are pretty awesome. Some serious thought has been into their design and they feel very comfortable. The bathroom contains a rain shower (win) and Lanvin toiletries (double win) and every detail down to the shoe/laundry bags shows character over and above that of your usual business hotel chain. The only downsides are that the hotel is not a high-rise one so there is no view to speak of and the bathroom layout is a little strange - sliding doors from both the entryway and the main bedroom, plus the closet opens on both sides of the bathroom... so a companion staying in the room might get a surprise if they try to grab their clothing while you're towelling off.

Common areas (5/5) are exquisitely designed. Other grand hotels have more surface area to play with but the Park Hyatt Saigon's giant ceilings make excellent use of space. And the theme of understated luxury is easily maintained throughout the hotel.

Amenities (4/5) are adequate. I haven't tried the gym or pool here but I found the quality of service at the spa to be quite good. Of the restaurants, the Italian one is on the average side, the lobby lounge is very comfortable with adequate coffee and the martini bar is swanky - on weekends it draws some of Saigon's moneyed set, as well as a bunch of old men and their nocturnal companions.

Service (4/5) while a little slow at times is still among the best I've encountered in Saigon. There are some language issues that crop up once in a while but for a developing city with a lower-than-average penetration of English, this property is doing a pretty good job.

This hotel is not perfect but no other hotel in Saigon even comes close to it in terms of character and comfort. The Intercon and Sofitel seem like cookie-cutter business hotels in comparison. Do yourself a favour, spend a few extra bucks and put up at The Park Hyatt.

Great service, beautiful decor. Fantastic food. I had a perfect stay at the Park Hyatt. I couldn't fault a thing. The rooms are quiet and tranquil in French colonial style. The pool is a great place to be after a day sightseeing in Saigon. Yoga by the pool was a particular highlight for me. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Park Hyatt to anyone.

Park Hyatt Saigon was the last stop on our anniversary trip, and it was an absolute perfect place to end our adventures. The hotel, itself, is gorgeous with a French colonial style of decor throughout, while still being modern. We had a suite on the 9th floor, which afforded lovely views of the pool and courtyard, as well as city views. The suite is a true suite with a separate bedroom and living area, as well as a small kitchen area. The furnishings were rich and comfortable, and the small details, such as the bouquet of roses and the fruit plate that was refreshed daily, were much appreciated touches.

If you're a Diamond member, you'll really enjoy breakfast at Opera, which is one of the best I've had at any Hyatt and includes the full buffet and whatever you want from the menu. We ordered 2-3 Vietnamese dishes (try the vermicelli with crab and the beef stew -- no really, the beef stew was amazing!) along with the buffet every day, and everything was delicious! Be sure to try the Vietnamese iced coffees, and if you like bread, ask for a baguette from your server. They will bring you the most delicious, warm little loaf that is pillowy soft on the inside with a perfect crumb on the outside. I dream about those baguettes, and I'm not usually a bread person.

What makes this hotel really stand out, however, is the staff. They are truly special. We were only there for three nights, but so many staff members greeted us by name every day! Everyone, from the concierge and front desks, to the restaurant staff, housekeeping and doormen, are warm, inviting, and seem to truly care about the guests. A big thank you to Leon, the front desk manager, and Ricarda, the food and beverage director, for their attention to a small request we had. Customer service at this hotel is simply ace.

If you have time, head to the bar for happy hour. We sat at the bar and really enjoyed watching the bar tender craft drinks. We've never seen someone put so much care and finesse into each drink, even if it was just a lime iced-tea. And they were delicious, as well! My husband said his martini was the best he's ever had.

The location is excellent, being within walking distance to excellent shopping, fine dining, and several attractions and sites. If you prefer not to walk or wish to visit another area, the doormen will hail a reputable cab and give them directions to where you want to go, as well as give you a business card for the hotel so you can easily return by just giving the card to the driver.

We were so sad when we had to leave Park Hyatt Saigon and cannot wait to return in the future!

By far one of the best gems in the hotel industry. well located in the city centre, yet it packs a strange sense of tranquil as you walk into the lobby and then to the rooms. Each level is designed to have it's over look the hotel pool which is also surprising peaceful and beautiful. I loved that the retained much of the traditional structure and adding furniture to tastefully translate the grandeur of the Park Hyatt brand.

Breakfast was great, service was personable, time was taken to address each and every concern without a doubt. As you enter the lobby, staff greets you by name and smiles every time. Superb trained and very much a comforting experience. I felt very much at home and secure as I step into the hotel.

I would want to return again only to be

Room Tip: Request for a room that is facing the pool. It's definitely much more peaceful.
