This is a new restaurant so we went there to try it for dinner. They are still getting a few things sorted, i.e. they have no creditcard/debitcard facilities yet nor do they have a children's high-chair. The restaurant says that it is Mediterranean but I would describe it as more French. The food is priced for foreigners but the taste made up for the slightly higher price. However, I ordered a meal from the grill and it was meant to come with baked potatoes and green beans but it came with french fries instead - when I questioned it they just looked at me like I had made a mistake but yet the menu clearly said it was meant to come with baked potatoes. All up our meal came to VND600,000 for 2 adults and 1 child. They have a small childrens menu (3 options) and were open to me mixing me up a couple of the options. The restaurant is not stroller or child friendly, outside is a small sandpit play area for kids which is good but keep an eye on them because there is also an unfenced pool. Service was good.
Then 1 week later we went back for lunch and it was a totally different experience. They do not have a breakfast/brunch menu which we were hoping they would. We got given bread to start but no side plates and no olive oil/balsamic vinegar like is on the tables inside the restaurant - so we had to ask for this. Service was not good (we sat outside and seemed to be forgotten), the salmon meal was very small (and not cooked properly), the risotto was also very small, the strip loin was quite tough/chewy and came with french fries and not the baked potatoes which it was supposed to come with and when I asked to swap then they said they had none left (at midday!), the veal was meant to be medium-rare but it was blue - when we asked the waitress to have it cooked more she just said 'but you asked for medium-rare' (before she had even looked at the meat!), we explained that it was not medium-rare and she just seemed annoyed at us! what ever happened to the customer is always right? Our lunch bill came to 600,000 for 2 adults and 1 child and our two friends bill came to 600,000 also. Not a cheap lunch! I am not in a hurry to return to this restaurant but I wish them good luck as they enter the very picky expat market in District 2.
