“Almost gave this 1 star - not impressed! ”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed March 15, 2014

First of all, I have to say that this isn't a terrible hotel. It's clean and tidy. It's in a good location to explore the city. So why the bad review?

1) I emailed the hotel twice before our arrival and did not get a response. I really hate this. We eventually got our previous hotel in Hoi An to phone for us. Not a great start.

2) The showers are shockingly bad for a modern hotel. Firstly, the shower is in the bath (ok, but not ideal). Secondly, you have to fix the shower head to the wall, but the fixing is so low that any adult will have bend in a very awkward position to use it. Thirdly, the controls are not marked and seem to have a mind of their own - figuring out how to use them is a complex guessing game. Lastly, and most seriously, once you have the shower working the temperature fluctuates from cold to dangerously hot every 20 seconds. A warning to parents, I suggest that you don't leave your child unattended to take a shower!

3) The hotel had a large number of tour groups that swarm over the hotel like locusts.

4) The breakfast was a bit of a shambles. Because of the tour groups, we were not allowed to eat our breakfast in the main dining area (which looked nice). Instead we had to go down into the basement which felt like a garage with curtains. Furthermore, the buffet had significantly less options than the upstairs dining area, and most of the time the items had run out.

Perhaps we were unlucky, but the fact remains that we had a bad experience at this hotel (the worst we had in Vietnam). You may be lucky and miss the tour groups, and have a lovely stay. However, you may not!!

Very disappointing!

Being my first time in Vietnam I was mindful of everything, Fortunately I was at ease from the moment I cleared Immigration. The hotel driver was there waiting with a warm bottle of water. At the hotel the Reception area and lobby was spotless and the check in a breeze. First impression excellent. Escorted to the room I was explained the functions of various items/equipment including the safety deposit box. The room was small and very well decorated with Wi fi and a desktop. The bathroom was also small with jacuzzi and very clean.
The breakfast was very good with local and western varieties of food. Omelets made to order are also available.
The hotel is located about five minute walk of Ben Than market with few coffee shops along the way as well.
The only negative was that at my last day as I was enjoying my last cup of coffee at my breakfast table I was asked to go sit and finish it in the lobby so they can sit another couple. That irritated me.
Overall the stay was good and will stay there again.

Room Tip: You can have tailor made clothing in about a day with quality materials. The vendor at the market co...

A very nice place to stay, near to major point of attraction in the City but yet sit in the quite and nice part. Near the Art museum and local coffee shops. Very much enjoy the place and will come back again in near future.

The Signature Hotel was great value for money.Great location close to the market and other tourist attractions. The buffet breakfast was extensive and of good quality.Staff were friendly and helpful.Would happily stay there again
My tip for 1st Timers to Saigon- Learn about the traffic before you arrive. It can be quite intimidating crossing roads without lights and with a wall of motor bikes and scooters bearing down on you from all directions

Room Tip: ASK FOR A VIEW IF POSSIBLE.oNE OF OUR ROOMS WAS WINDOWLESS AND THE OTHER HAD A WINDOW TOO HIGH TO AP...

We spent our first 2 nights in Vietnam in this hotel so were relieved to find it clean and comfortable. The rooms are spacious and we were on the sixth floor so were not troubled by traffic noise.
Breakfast was adequate though not hugely inspiring. We found staff very pleasant and helpful
We liked the location- moments from the museum and a short walk to the market. .

Room Tip: Go for a room near the top of the hotel
