Travelling around Vietnam and eating the local foods is a great experience, but when you want a taste of home, friendly conversation with expats and foreigners alike, Cafe Alex is where you go. Chris, the owner, makes sure you feel at home and the food is nothing less than superb. Whether it be bacon and eggs for breakfast, bangers and mash or fish and chips for dinner or the traditional Sunday roast you won't be disappointed. As was mentioned by a few others, it's not as cheap as some locally run restaurants, but as the saying goes 'you get what you pay for' and you are paying just a little more for high quality traditional English dishes. Don't forget the ice cold beers!! Chris would be too embarrassed to provide anything less!!

I came here on reviews from trip advisor. I was very satisfied. The fish and chips were wonderful. Lots of flavour, and big helping for the price.
The atmosphere is very relaxing from the busyness of the city. Large seating along the sidewalk. Music was at a enjoyable volume.
I came for fish and chips and ended up staying a few hours speaking with Chris and his regular customers. They were very friendly and helpful with questions I had.
I will have to be back for some live music on Wednesdays and also try some more of the wonderful food.

As an ex-pat living in Saigon for a number of years, I can safely say this is the best british food around for quality and value. I've tried everything on the menu (proper english breakfast, fish n chips etc) and it's all great. Big portions and great taste. A friendly host, relaxing environment, cold beer, great music and friendly customers. Definitely worth a visit. You'll be back again!

I've gone to Alex's three times now. What can I say. The best most authentic English dishes I've had this side of SE Asia. The Bangers and mash are nothing short of fantastic. Proper tea and and a quiet relaxed location make this one of my favorite spots to come and hang out for hours. Can't recommend this place enough.
