“Artsy Cosy Boutique Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 21, 2013

I absolutely love this hotel for the outlook and overall feel. It's beautiful and so homely! Although location is not along the main street - it's located in an alley so it gets pretty quiet after evening so take a cab in/ out if needed. It's not very expensive anyways and it's safe - just go with the meter.

Staff was very friendly and prompt in assistance. They can also speak pretty good English which is very helpful in communication.

Rooms are small and cosy but good enough. It's a boutique hotel after all - it's clean and well maintained. Internet works well and fast.

I stayed here during a business trip and would stay here again if I'm here for a holiday.

We spent exactly 15 days at the Alcove, with a one-year-old, in an Alcove Suite room (with free breakfast!). The place was beautifully decorated, just like the pictures shown on their site. Since it's not in District 1 (about 10-15 mins cab ride), the location is very quiet, it's in an alley so has the very local feel to it. But what made our stay so comfortable and cozy, was the wonderful service we received from EVERYONE working there. Though this is not a 5-star hotel, the service is definitely of one, if not more. It exceeded all of our expectations, and definitely made our stay so much easier, especially with a small child. I highly recommend it!!!

This time was my 3rd time in the alcove. They provided me free pick up service. Thanks a lot (especially taxis in the airport are really rude and they only focus on how they can earn more money from travellers) Because of my business, i often come to vietnam, whenever i come this hotel, they welcome me like family. I am sure I will come here next time too. I like their Roof top restaurant too.^^

Dear Hosea6235,

We are very happy to receive your great comments

Thank you very much for sharing the fact of things to everyone. We dont mean to say not good about taxis as there are some taxi companies still good anyway, but yes it's true that almost the taxi drivers are trying to earn more money as whatever the way they can. That's the reason why we arrange the airport pick up to our customers as we know they are very nervous on the first steps to Ho Chi Minh City, and if they catch wrong taxi, it will create a bad image since the first sign...

We do hope that The Alcove Library Hotel will always be your home in Saigon and we - our Alcove team will always be your family members in the future

we are looking forward to welcoming you back soon

Best regards,

I found it when looking for perfect get away for celebrating my husband's birthday and this hotel also perfect for books lover like us.
I suggest find the address first on the google map or diadiem.com. Find first Nguyen Dinh Chinh street - on the right hand side if coming from District 1, follow that small street until find Alcove gate if you're ride a motorbike or show the address to the taxi driver (including the map in case they don't know :)
Hotel interior is great and lovely. Clean and well maintained
We had dinner upstairs at their RedHouse Restaurant (the same place for breakfast in the morning). the burger was great, the spinach salad was satisfying, chicken wings with teriyaki sauce also nice - a bit salty :). Breakfast a la carte with buffet style for bread, fruits, juice, coffe & tea.
We stayed at Alcove King Bed. Clean, spacious enough, nice and comfort bed and definitely we loved the pillows!! turn down service at night. Nice and Friendly staffs

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights. Lovely room the bed was so comfortable.

We had dinner in the restaurant one night - pasta and burgers very good.

To get to District 1 take bus number 4 took about 15 mins - worth a visit was the war museum.

Thanks once again for the helpful and friendly staff.

The location is trivial, it´s situated on a small street next to the main road where you get a "local" feeling, inside an asian metropolis. The staff is really service-minded and helpful. The hotel is modern and classy, really beautiful, and they have a restaurant on the rooftop with some really good hamburgers. We enjoyed this place and I highly recommend it!

I stayed here with my partner for two nights while in HCMC. The hotel is located halfway between the airport and the city. A taxi to the city centre costs around 50000 Dong ($2.50) and takes 5 to 10 mins, during peak hour it takes a little longer.

We really enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to family and friends. The staff were wonderfully friendly and helpful. The room was neat and clean. The breakfast delicious. The lobby gorgeous. The lofty restaurant - very cool. The price - great.

The only two things I could fault the hotel on were the water pressure in the bathroom. The pressure fluctuates every few seconds and can be frustrating. There was also a slight odor in stairwell which was being masked by some fragrant oil candles. An extraction fan could probably deal with this problem and I know that the staff are aware of this. The room was not at all smelly so this wasn't exactly a huge problem.

Overall the hotel was a very lovely place to call home during our time in HCMC.
