“Historical site for a nice afternoon visit!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 22, 2014

This is well worth the visit, just for the history involved. It was built as a Presidential Palace. It was built in 1865 on the grounds of Norodom Palace as a residence for the French Governor. But is most known as the historic site where the Vietnam war ended. The building and grounds are very well maintained. We bought the standard ticket that allows you into certain areas like the grand reception, meeting rooms, banquet area, situation room, the bunker, etc. They have various photos on the walls showing the history of Vietnam. You can pay a little more and do a full tour of the Palace with a tour guide. You can also walk around the outside area of the Palace. In the back there are huge trees with an enormous root system. Very beautiful. They also have a small outside Cafe where you can sit and relax with a drink. At the time we sat down to relax there was live music with a small group of musicians. Very nice. If you are in Ho Chi Minh city, then this is a must stop on the cultural and historical tour!!

“City centre landmark”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 22, 2014

It's not Buckingham Palace but once you see this building 25 minutes in from your trip from the airport, it signifies that you are finally in the city centre of Ho Chi Minh City or District 1.

“Just like it was in 1970”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 22, 2014

I was surprised that the place is just like I remember it from earlier years (1970.) Everything has been preserved except the library. We took the $6 City tour so we had a guide that was well versed in the place and had excellent english. For Viet Nam Vets this is must.

“It's a nice place to learn about Vietnam War and its history”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 22, 2014

The place is maintained in relatively good shape. We were in a hurry so we could not spend more time reading through the information. We really liked the bunker floor.

“Better than I was expecting”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 21, 2014

Palace is exactly as if it was to be used to host foreign representatives tomorrow. You get to see the grand reception and meeting rooms, banquet area, situation room, the bunker. Lots of nice rooms and good descriptions and photos showing who had been in the room over time.
