“no faults here - great choice.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 17, 2013

Just spent 6 nights at this hotel with my wife & 1 year. A pleasure from the moment of check in. All the staff were very courteous & made us feel welcome. It is worth taking the upgrade for the executive lounge - with personal check in service & great selection of refreshments. The staff there also so friendly - if they read this - our baby says Hi :) - As other reviews the location is great - near the river & also centre of town. Nice relaxing pool area & good breakfast. We also tried the buffet deal 1 evening with good selection & wine, beer etc on tap. This is a nice quality of hotel - but with more of a friendly touch than some of the big groups. Well recommended.

Room Tip: River views & executive available - worth the request & price.

My wife and I stayed at this property for 2 nights in October of 2011. If I were going to compare this property to an American Hotel chain I would say that this hotel is comparable to staying in a nice downtown Hilton hotel with all of the amenities. This hotel is right in the heart of the city. It is very close to shopping and dinning options galore. My wife and I were very pleased with this hotel choice.

We stayed at this hotel for three nights in April 2013. It's location is within easy walking distance of many restaurants and attractions in Saigon.
The breakfast is excellent and caters for all needs. It even offers fresh grilled fish. I found the staff friendly, professional and always willing to assist.
The pool facilities are very good and a great place to relax.
Our room looked out onto the river and the views were fascinating watching life taking place on the river.
The hotel has a spectacular entrance and the colonial period runs throughout the main areas of the hotel.
I really enjoyed our stay at this hotel

I would love to have had more time to spend at this hotel and been able to explore more of Saigon. The location was a convenient 5 minute walk to shops and restaurants and the staff were professional and friendly. Good value and would highly recommend! And Buffet downstars in just wonderful

The hotel is well located and close to all the city's attractions. Plenty of restaurants and bistros to suit differing tastes. Hotel rooms are comfortable and large. The hotel has a pretty good Japanese Restaurant. Overall, very satisfied with our stay.

I have just visited the Legend for a second time in 2 years. It is very good value for money. It is not in the heart of the main shopping district but only about a 5 minute walk and I prefer to be away from the busy tourist area. The staff and service is excellent. Most of the staff have good english but if they are in any doubt they will get a colleague who will help out. The buffet breakfast is huge and the International Buffet Dinner is very good value. My only very small criticism is that they need new pillows!! However, this is just a personal choice as the pillows are just way too soft. Overall I would highly recommend this hotel. It is excellent value for money.

Room Tip: Book a Riverview Room. Well worth it.

We booked a four night stay at the Legend for April. Upon arrival we were given a smoking room when we had specifically requested a non-smoking room. When we were shown our room we were told it was non-smoking as the maid removed the ash trays and boxed matches in front of us. I informed the desk that we wanted non-smoking room and that the room provided was not acceptable. The staff immediately changed our room to the 11th floor which is a non-smoking floor. The staff is extremely polite and courteous. They try very hard to please, sometimes a little too hard particularly in their restaurants, they kind of stand near your table while you are eating, after a while it becomes annoying. I know they are just trying to provide good service but sometimes it is a little too much.

Breakfast was very good and well worth the cost if not included in the room rate. Lunch and dinner was another story. Their menu was mostly western food. One of the reasons we traveled to Vietnam was to experience authentic Vietnamese food. We can get western food at home. Their Chinese restaurant was fair and we did not think their Japanese restaurant was much better. If you are looking for great food in the area try "Xu" at 71-75 Hai Ba Trung District 1 about two blocks from the hotel. We had lunch there and the food was excellent. Vietnamese sandwiches and Pho were particularly good.

The hotel has a good location. The more expensive rooms face the Saigon river. We booked this room but were a little disappointed that although the room looked out onto the river right in front of the hotel are dry docks where they are repairing and painting ships night and day. The room is well insulated so the noise was minimal. The pictures of the Hotel on their web-site do not show these dry docks.

The rooms were a decent size and were very clean. They were cleaned very quickly each morning. The maid staff were very attentive. The beds were very comfortable. The bathroom was very clean and well maintained. The A/C was very good. A/C is important, during our stay the temperature was neat 100 degrees Fahrenheit every day. Very Very Hot!!

The Common areas like the lobby, halls and exercise rooms were very clean. The grounds of the Hotel including the Pool area were well maintained. They had a Grand Piano in the Lobby/Lounge and someone would play it every night for a few hours. It was a nice touch.

Overall the Hotel was Good.

Room Tip: Non-Smoking rooms are on the 11th floor.
