The hotel is well located and close to all the city's attractions. Plenty of restaurants and bistros to suit differing tastes. Hotel rooms are comfortable and large. The hotel has a pretty good Japanese Restaurant. Overall, very satisfied with our stay.

I have just visited the Legend for a second time in 2 years. It is very good value for money. It is not in the heart of the main shopping district but only about a 5 minute walk and I prefer to be away from the busy tourist area. The staff and service is excellent. Most of the staff have good english but if they are in any doubt they will get a colleague who will help out. The buffet breakfast is huge and the International Buffet Dinner is very good value. My only very small criticism is that they need new pillows!! However, this is just a personal choice as the pillows are just way too soft. Overall I would highly recommend this hotel. It is excellent value for money.

Room Tip: Book a Riverview Room. Well worth it.

We booked a four night stay at the Legend for April. Upon arrival we were given a smoking room when we had specifically requested a non-smoking room. When we were shown our room we were told it was non-smoking as the maid removed the ash trays and boxed matches in front of us. I informed the desk that we wanted non-smoking room and that the room provided was not acceptable. The staff immediately changed our room to the 11th floor which is a non-smoking floor. The staff is extremely polite and courteous. They try very hard to please, sometimes a little too hard particularly in their restaurants, they kind of stand near your table while you are eating, after a while it becomes annoying. I know they are just trying to provide good service but sometimes it is a little too much.

Breakfast was very good and well worth the cost if not included in the room rate. Lunch and dinner was another story. Their menu was mostly western food. One of the reasons we traveled to Vietnam was to experience authentic Vietnamese food. We can get western food at home. Their Chinese restaurant was fair and we did not think their Japanese restaurant was much better. If you are looking for great food in the area try "Xu" at 71-75 Hai Ba Trung District 1 about two blocks from the hotel. We had lunch there and the food was excellent. Vietnamese sandwiches and Pho were particularly good.

The hotel has a good location. The more expensive rooms face the Saigon river. We booked this room but were a little disappointed that although the room looked out onto the river right in front of the hotel are dry docks where they are repairing and painting ships night and day. The room is well insulated so the noise was minimal. The pictures of the Hotel on their web-site do not show these dry docks.

The rooms were a decent size and were very clean. They were cleaned very quickly each morning. The maid staff were very attentive. The beds were very comfortable. The bathroom was very clean and well maintained. The A/C was very good. A/C is important, during our stay the temperature was neat 100 degrees Fahrenheit every day. Very Very Hot!!

The Common areas like the lobby, halls and exercise rooms were very clean. The grounds of the Hotel including the Pool area were well maintained. They had a Grand Piano in the Lobby/Lounge and someone would play it every night for a few hours. It was a nice touch.

Overall the Hotel was Good.

Room Tip: Non-Smoking rooms are on the 11th floor.

We would love to have had more time to spend at this hotel and been able to explore more of Saigon. We stayed on 3 separate occasions, for a night each time and the rooms were clean, spacious, and well presented with comfortable beds. The location was a convenient 5 minute walk to shops and restaurants and the staff were professional and friendly. Good value and would highly recommend!

An oasis of luxury in Saigon. The staff were wonderful with our little kids (4 and 2) and the outdoor pool in the gardens perfect to cool down in the Saigon heat. Lovely room with view over the river. ..kids loved watching the boats.

A really lovely hotel with absolute top service but equally important a personal touch from the staff.

If you visit with children try visit Le Van Tam Park I the evening. Local vietnamese families come here and the carrousel rides etc are great fun for little children. We were the only westerners there and the locals were so friendly to us and our children. Interesting to watch both young and old here in the evening dancing and doing exercise too!

We stayed for 3 nights in this centrally located hotel, using it as a base for trips to co chi and visiting the city. Overlooking the river its is within walking distance of all major sites and just minutes from loads of coffee shops and some great restaurants (nearby Hoa Tuc recommended if splashing out or Scoozi pizza if not)
The hotel decor is in your face glam, with giant horse statues, a massive atrium (to take high tea) and bathed in light. Not to everyones taste, but interesting!
Service, as usual in Vietnam, is friendly and efficient. Rooms are a good size, with great views over the river. It was very quiet in our room on 7th (think goes up to 12 floors)
outside there is a great pool area with loungers which gets the sun from late morning to late afternoon - great for getting away from craziness of HCMC.
We didn't eat there as so much choice around, so can't comment on food.
Not bad for $130 a night in such a great location in a big city
