We stayed here two nights this week and thought it was fantastic. Location is great , close to everything. Very clean hotel. Breakfast buffet was great, great service also. I notice a few people have mentioned the decor is dated. Well who really cares anyway, your not in Ho Chi Minh to stare at the walls in your room. Your there to check out the sights and the streets of Ho Chi Minh City! I also recommend the foodie tour while in town!

The best thing about this hotel is its position. it is only five minutes walk to the Rex and Caravelle for drinks ,a bit further to the night market and two minutes from the river.

My room was enormous, very clean and very comfy with everything you might need. The air conditioning was really fierce and i ended up putting the quilt on my bed to keep warm. if you switched it off the room warmed up really quickley. The hotel lobby is quite swanky and there is a small bar and a restaurant where they serve a really nice breakfast. The swimming pool is the only disappointment, it is so small i don't know why they bothered putting it in.

The road outside is busy but goes really quiet after 9pm. I think within five years this part of HMC will resemble many of the other Asian cities like Singapore and Bangkok. i really liked it here it had a buzz that was missing in Hanoi.

This accommodation was in an ideal location. Walking distance of all the high spots in HCM city. The rooms were well equipped and while we did experience problems with the safe and shower on our first night these were soon sorted. The breakfast was plentiful and hot, if a little slow at the egg station.

We stayed here for 2 nights.
It feels a little dated and the rooms are definitely as up to date as others stayed in on this holiday. It was still clean though which is the main thing.
There is a very small pool that we used briefly before the heavens opend but it was adequate and there was also a small gym if people feel so inclined.
We looked out on to the main road but it actually wasn't noisey at all. The air-con seemed a little bit like it had it's own agenda - whatever setting it went on, seemed to be icey cold, then quite warm in the night.
We ate in teh hotel teh first night and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Thre was an awful smell in the restaurant that didn't start things off well. I ordered chicken - which was the driest piece of chicken I think I have ever had and found it hard to swallow (gave up after 3 mouthfuls) My husband had Ostrich which was also over cooked.
Breakfast was ok - the usual buffet offerings, but the fruit selection was a little underwhelming.
The bar was ok - the lady playing the piano tried her best but often had no-one to play to.
We booked a trip from teh lady in reception to the Cu chi tunnels which was better value than other ones we found and was an excellent half day trip.
It is literally round the corner to the Saigon Skydeck and close to a lot of the other sites so it is an excellent base.
Also round the corner is a restaurant called La Nicoise which had brilliant food and atmosphere.
I would stay here again as a base, just eat out.

My Partner and I stayed four nights at the Duxton Hotel, it is in a convenient location in the city.
The room we stayed in was adequate but a little dated good air conditioning but uncomfortable bed. (My partner woke up most mornings with a sore hip). Staff were friendly and helpful apart from the guy in the black suit in the breakfast buffet area who seemed slightly obnoxious and refused to smile. The buffet breakfast was of a good standard with plenty of variety, the annoying thing was there seemed to be a jackhammer start up about 9am every morning.
The Pool was reasonable but there is not many tables and seating.
Overall it was ok but we wouldn't rush back!
