“Usual international style hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 27, 2012

Well located in Saigon with good decor, smartly dressed staff
Could be anywhere in the world a typical international brand hotel.
Reception and concierge staff were pleasant, helpful and happy to help.
Staff in the breakfast area on the other hand were not very helpful and never smiled everything seemed to be a bother to them. They almost made you feel uncomfortable.
No free wifi in the rooms which a lot of other hotels on our journey did offer.
There was one free bottle of water in the room but if you used the wrong bottle ( different brand) then this water was charged at 5$ !
Overall it was a nice hotel.

“If only I knew...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 26, 2012

That there was a Grand Tower, I'd have opted for that as the room in the older tower smelled musky and old even though we were upgraded to a suite. But the decor of the room is really beautiful and the service we experienced there was impeccable!!

Room Tip: Choose the Grand Tower!!

“Great Location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 26, 2012

The best thing about the Sheraton is its location right in the heart of HCMC. All the main attractions are walkable and there are fantastic restaurants and cafes nearby. The hotel itself is however just another large, city business hotel. We had booked over the internet and got a special rate. When we arrived we were offered to add breakfast and wi-fi for JUST another S$100 per night. Which was ridiculous as we had great breakfasts with free wi-fi in the hotel's coffee shop???? We had an ordinary room which was very large and clean. Room service was quick and when we had a problem with a light it was fixed straight away.

“Probably the best club floor experience ever....”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 23, 2012

First stay in the city, first impressions are a big flashy, high end hotel, the lobby area was busy, lots of people, staff, a massive Christmas tree, even a BMW car on show, I asked to upgrade to a club floor room and this was done quickly and I was soon checked in.

The club floor rooms are large, the room has everything you could want, the bed was heaven, the shower room great, when I got back in the room at night, the slippers were laid out, the remote laid on the bed with a flower and various little treats were left, sometimes chocolates, little cakes or fruit pieces.

The club lounge was the biggest I had ever used, the food was excellent, it was elegant and the staff were a credit, they were dressed immaculately, so professional and quickly attended to your needs. It also had an open kitchen for the evening 3hr cocktail session and at breakfast.

Take a trip up to the 23rd floor bar, the atmosphere was great, the views incredible. There are also nearby bars and great shopping malls plus other tourist attractions.

I had a Oriental Zen massage in the spa - amazing and not bad value.

My only gripe was the pool was quite small, not particularly busy, so I always got a sun bed, but it also due to the hotel towers became shaded from noon onwards, so no watching the sunset round the pool, but it remained warm and you could lay out until late if you wanted.

Room Tip: upgrade to a club floor room and live the dream

“A nice stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 18, 2012

I had stayed in this hotel for 6 days. The room was very spacious but it had a musky stale smell. The bathroom was also very spacious with a bath tub and a separate shower area. They had good breakfast spread for the breakfast buffet. But their service at the Saigon cafe was very slow when we had our dinner one of the nights. We ordered ala-carte instead of their buffet dinner and it took ages for them to serve our food. Room service was quite prompt when we ordered for one of the lunch. The dim sum lunch buffet at the hotel's Chinese restaurant was good too.

Our room was cleaned everyday even when we turn on the do not disturb light. We got a fright when the cleaner suddenly came into the room for cleaning even when we put do not disturb. The spa in the hotel was good. Overall, the location of the hotel is good. There are many eating places and shopping malls all within walking distance.
