“Bad staff, not helpfull, bad mood.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed January 21, 2009

Never again in this hotel, The staff really spoils your good mood, they don't care about their guests, are not interested, not helpfull and mostly in a bad mood, getting irritated very quick.

The hotel is surrounded by working (day and night) to build a new shopping center and and new aisle for the hotel. Avoir asking for rooms there, except for superior with swimming pool view if you want get a chance to sleep. Within 2 years it will probably be a nice location. Needs some revamp on the room as the carpet is a bit smelly.

We stayed at this place twice... First, the staff don't look like happy to work here, no smile, it look like to disturb them each time you ask a question.

The hotel is really dated. They claim to be a 4 stars hotel. It is not for sure. The breakfast is so so and don't try to go after 8h30 because most of the dishes of the buffet will be gone. Also, they are charging you an outrageous price for internet (15 usd per day) but it is free anywhere else!

The second time, they had a party until 10pm in the Lobby! and our room was just one floor up. We could not even lesson to the TV. When I call the reception at 7pm, they told me I should wait 4 hours. When I insist, they offer us an other room just one floor up with as much noise as the first one. When I told them i was planning to stay in an hotel and not a night club, they offer us a 3rd room but with no air conditionning.

In the morning, when we wanted to go out. There were a fight at the entrance outside so we had to wait a bit in the lobby to be able to go out...

I would not recommand this hotel for anybody

We stayed here in December for four nights, broken by a night in the Mekong Delta. We booked two rooms, one for oursleves in the old wing and one for our son in the new wing. Our first room in the old wing room 203A was by far the best room. Very spacious and elegant, very quiet and dark. We had this room for two nights and only wished we could have had the same room when we returned. We were given 106, adjacent to the pool, (on the same level). This was a much smaller room and very noisy with staff wheeling trolleys around at 5.30 in the morning. Also there was a fan light which let in too much light and made it difficult to sleep. We were not happy and asked to change back to the same area as before. We were then given 303, which was better but still not as big as 203A. Try and ask for this room it is very, very good. Our son was in an identical room to his first room the second time around.

Our son was very happy in the new wing and whilst the rooms lacked the high ceilings they were very well appointed and the bathrooms modern and clean. If the old wing is unavailable, do not stress just take a modern wing room, they were very good.

The front desk service was excellent and the staff very pleasant. We enjoyed the buffet breakfast especially the made to order omlettes. Our son loved the beef pho.

We thought the location was great, easy to walk to all areas, and you felt very safe in this upmarket area. The Christmas decorations were amazing much better than anything Sydney had to offer.

I would stay here again but not in a room around the pool side area. There was a new section being built and while we were staying there was quite a lot of building noise going on.

We stayed for the last four nights of 2008 at this hotel.
The hotel is nice. The bedroom and bathroom were large enough for all the luggage we had.

The look of the room is a bit outdated, and not very functional by 21st century standards. There was only a single available electrical outlet - in the bathroom. In the bedroom, you have to unplug the TV and the desk lamp if you want to plug in anything else, such as chargers for cell phone, computer, or other batteries.

The bathroom is nice enough. It is unfortunately not possible to fill the bathtub with hot water. You will run out of hot water long before it's full. But after you do, you will get somewhat warm water - not ice cold water. So it's still possible to continue to bathe, or take a long shower.

The Internet access is not normally included, but we negotiated to have it covered for our stay. The access is wireless. Unfortunately, the hotel's system registers the wireless MAC address of the first device that connects. That made it impossible to use the internet from both the laptop and the 2 wifi cell phones that we had brought along.

The hotel gave us trouble when we tried to bring an overnight guest. Apparently they don't allow it. They wouldn't allow us to register an extra guest either. We had to send our friend away in a cab.

The price is somewhat high for what you get, but the only hotel that gave us better satisfaction in Saigon was the Caravelle that costs much more.

We just spent two nights at this hotel and found it to be an excellent choice. It is centrally located so it was good for walking to many locations. The room was very nice and the breakfast was a amazing - more like a Sunday brunch everyday.

Lovely hotel with large spacious rooms and a devine swimming pool, great to relax around in the early evening heat.

Expensive with the ++ for tax and service charge but worth it if you are after comfort and a touch of elegance within a central location.

We stayed on one of the deluxe wing rooms.

We would highly recommend the 2 day, 1 night trip to Can Tho in the Mekong Delta. We booked via a separate source to the hotel on line from the UK prior to departing to Vietnam.

The Victoria Hotel in Can Tho is worth the money!
