Bear in mind that this is not a 5 star hotel, so on that basis I gave it a 4 star rating but it does what it does extremely well and better than many hotels categorised at a higher level. If I were to rate it in comparison to other hotels at this level, I would certainly give it top marks of 5 stars. We stayed here for 2 nights after flying in to Vietnam at the beginning of an 12 day trip and then for our final night before flying out again. It was perfect for what we wanted and although not quite the most centrally located it was not very far away from those hotels that were. The major plus of staying here was the staff, who couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. They were always attentive and showed a genuine care and pride in their roles - from reception to catering to tour desk to door staff. All without exception excelled in what they did and the way they did it. It is things like this that make a stay memorable and provide added positive experience. Advice on where to go and what to do was not only readily on hand but always accurate. When we returned to the hotel 9 days later for one more night, we were remembered by the door staff immediately we stepped out of the taxi and also by the reception staff as soon as we got to the desk. If you want to enjoy Ho Chi Minh City and budget a little by saving on paying for top hotels, you are not sacrificing too much here and you are certainly getting good value and experience at the Grand Silverland. They have many of the facilities of the larger hotels such as pool, gym, health spa and while it's all a little smaller, it is certainly good for this category of hotel. I'd definitely recommend this to those who want a more than acceptable level of comfort and amenities along with great service at a value for money price.
