We stayed one night at this little gem in the heart of District 1, less than two blocks from Ben Thanh Market. The location was absolutely ideal for our short stop in the city to pack in all of the sights. The hotel is tucked away in a small alleyway off Le Loi - HCMC's major downtown thoroughfare. We were able to see the market, adjacent night market (open 'til 2am!), Reunification/Independence Palace, War Remnants Museum, Notre Dame Cathedral, Ho Chi Minh Statue, and Opera House all within an easy 10-15min walk - we didn't need to hire a taxi or moto to get around. There are plenty of great restaurants within that vicinity as well. Getting from the airport was easy - print out the address if possible for the taxi driver. Fare should be around D100,000-150,000 (including 10,000 airport tax). Also, be aware that many of the airport taxi companies tend to gouge tourists (apparently locals too) with fast-running meters or clever scams to get you to pay more. Mai Linh and Vinasun are reputable companies - beware of the companies that try to scam the names (i.e. DON'T go for "Mai Lin").
Back to the hotel...The staff went out of their way to make us comfortable. We were upgraded to a deluxe room at no charge since the nicer room was available (this being low season and the fact the property is still quite young). We found the 4th floor room very comfortable with a cozy balcony looking over the alley with distant views of the Bitexco Tower. The shower had good water pressure - good A/C in the room. Room was quiet off the alleyway, despite being so close to Le Loi. Breakfast was not included at the price point we selected, but we were happy to opt for an early morning bowl of Pho Bo or Pho Ga from the awesome eateries nearby.
All in all, a great stay; excellent value for what we paid and the location can't be beat.
