“You get what you pay for”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2014

We stayed at Beautiful Saigon 3 in December 2013 - one deluxe room for 3 adults for three nights (one queen size and one single beds) at US$56 per night with complimentary breakfast.

We booked the room online directly from the hotel. Both the check-in and check-out were fast, smooth and straightforward.

Besides free and reliable Wi-Fi in our room, there was also a desktop computer - very useful for checking emails and searching for information.

We got a room on the 5th floor and at the back away from the road. Granted it didn’t offer any view but it was very quiet both in the day and night.

With one queen size and one single beds, the room was quite a tight fit for three adults but it was still cosy and comfortable. The toilet, though small, was very clean and the showers always had hot water and good pressure.

Beautiful Saigon 3 is conveniently located at Bui Vien Street in the heart of the backpackers’ district. This means fast access to many food eateries, travel agencies and money exchanges (though the offerings were more or less the same). The hotel was also within walking distance to the nearby Ben Thanh Market and Fine Arts Museum.

While you can get cheaper rooms elsewhere, you get what you pay for at Beautiful Saigon 3.

Room Tip: Higher floors (try 5th floor) and room at the back are quieter. Avoid the highest floor (6th floor...

Well located, simple, good breakfest, clean room and an extremelly friendly stuff. You can book your tour do Cu Chi Tunnels at the front desk. I recomend take the half day tour wich goes straight to Cu Chi. The hotel offers you the pick up at the airport.

Excellent hotel for the price. For around £25 per night we got a very comfortable queen bed, good linen, good air con, a flat screen wall mounted TV, a large shower with rainshower head, hairdryer, towels ...and oddly a desktop PC in the room!

Breakfast was basic but nice. That's the only reason I didn't give it 5 star.

In the bustling tourist centre of District 1, it is one of many many hotels boasting the great location. An easy walk to the markets, with plenty of surrounding restaurants and travel agencies - certainly a recommended place to stay. The hotel itself offered well-priced tours through TNK travel. Friendly staff, great service, and lovely breakfast. The room was comfortable and clean, with an especially nice shower. My girlfriend had a little difficulty sleeping with the noise outside; but I suspect all the hotels in the area would have the same issue.

The only reason I wouldn't give 5 stars is the price - it was good value, but some of our other hotels during the Vietnam/Thailand trip offered slightly more. Would still recommend!

We arrived quite late and as I had emailed the hotel ahead of time we had a driver meet us at the airport. It cost $20 but was well worth the convenience of seeing your name on a sign knowing that the taxi is paid for by the hotel so they can rip you off! We had to wait a bit before checking into our rooms. The deluxe double at $36 a night was fine although no window...could request a window when booking. The room was clean, modern and had a beautiful bathroom with a rain shower! All polished chrome and brand new. Our second room was the superior...at $49 per night it had a large king sized bed and window overlooking the alley where the hotel was located. Again beautiful facilities all modern and new. We were in the new wing of the Beautiful Saigon 3 which is one of two hotels with same name...the other wing is older and I did not see it.
We had breakfast provided next door and there was lots to choose from as well as menu items to order. The crusty bread is fresh and crunchy! A nice change from the white bread we seem to get all over Vietnam!
The staff helped us book some tours and were helpful. The young lady on reception was particularly sweet.
I felt that the great location, nice rooms and decent price make this hotel a good place to stay while in Ho Chi Minh City!

Room Tip: As there are 6 floors and only 3 rooms on each floor you may want to request a lower floor- although...

Beautiful Saigon 3

I have eight categories to judge a hotel: a) price, b) bed quality, c) sleep quality - this would include problems like hearing a neighbour through a wall, parties, construction, d) proximity to restaurants (within a fifteen minute walk), e) location (proximity to attractions both by tuk-tuk and walking), f) reception - treatment by hotel staff and overall friendliness toward clients, g) amenities (including price of hotel taxi and other small items such as shampoo, razors, etc); and h) overall feel and sense of the hotel, its staff and the neighbourhood (perhaps a subjective category).
The price of the Beautiful Saigon 3 is reasonable for its category. The bed quality is quite good; we found the bed firm and the pillows comfortable. Sleep quality is reasonable: we could hear street noise though it was buffered by the bathroom which segregated the sleeping part of the room from the alley. Other clients who had their bed nearer the alley complained more about noise. We also could hear the water pipes. Our room was also affected by the elevator: the reverberation noise was felt across the room several times but usually it ended by 9:30 pm and started around 7 am. It depends on how many people are going up and down!
Several decent restaurants were nearby. We ate twice in the Sisters Cafe near the entrance and would recommend this place over the hotel's restaurant. The decor is nice, they play a number of great songs and the owner is very friendly. The streets are crowded though and vendors come in and out of the restaurants plying their crafts often.
The main receptionist was very cordial and the bellboy very helpful. They didn't seem to be super efficient around organizing tours, however, there are several high level companies five minutes away. One issue I had with the hotel was the cost of their hotel taxi. Compared to other hotels throughout Vietnam it's overpriced by 5 to 8 dollars (yes, they pay a parking fee and a toll but the amount is not great). The hotel is about 30 minutes from the airport (in terms of time and traffic. I would recommend an airport taxi - just ask the price and don't pay more than 8 to 12 dollars (compared to the 20 dollar fee for a hotel taxi).
We had no problems with the amenities or extras such as Wifi. We enjoyed our three-night stay at the BS 3, but might look for a different hotel next time. Enjoy your travels.

Room Tip: Stay away from the elevator and try a room toward the back.

A great location in District 1 (the "tourist district"). A short walk to many attractions and good places to eat. Nice friendly staff, a reasonably spacious room with a window facing the street (some rooms don't have windows so make sure you check when you book). I thought breakfast was included but we only got one coupon to take to the restaurant next door when we were staying 4 nights, so not really sure what happened with that. There was complimentary water and a fruit basket when we arrived.

The hotel pick up from airport is $20, would be much cheaper to taxi, but it takes the hassle out when arriving late at night. A hotel driver to the airport from the hotel is only $10. The staff held our bags for us after we checked out which was good.

Overall a good stay.

Room Tip: Make sure to get a window
