“Not worth doing”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed February 17, 2013 via mobile

It's a 90 minute drive from HCMC and really not worth it. You can crawl through a piece of tunnel that is twice the size of the original ones. Its hot inside and crowded. I saw someone crying when she got out after 30 Meters.
They show a sort of entertaining propaganda movie from the 60ies in the beginning that is black and white in many ways. You can also shoot guns there, if you're into that, which we are not.
I think there are better ways to spend your time and money in Vietnam. I would not recommend this trip.

“Really interesting experience & great guide”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 16, 2013

We were uncertain whether we wanted to squeeze this trip in as we had a limited time in Ho Chi Minh city, however we are glad that we did as it was a really rich experience. Yes there were a lot of tour buses, but this is was totally to be expected for something like this, so if this isn't your thing you should avoid. However it was definitely worth seeing, and for us made all the more fascinating by our guide, who had a personal experience of the Vietnam war and a gave a different perspective. Yes it was a little propagandist, but we knew this going in and it didn't take away from what happened here and how interesting it was learn about this.

“A must-see in Ho Chi Minh”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 16, 2013

The place is two hours from District one or city proper. It is advisable to get a tour in order to understand the place. The is well-preserve. We even crawl through one of the tunnels. It is 15 meters long but i felt its 500 meters long. It is physically challenging. Although i highly recommend crawling through the tunnel. I suggest you bring food and water. There is a small store but you can buy only softdrinks and some local biscuits. When we reached the city, it was already past 2pm and we were starving to death.

“Eye opener!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 15, 2013 via mobile

The first few minutes, you ponder why you got on that your; a gift shop and a 1965 black an white video on how the US is the devil and killed children and animals. But then you get to go inside the tunnels an feel what it was like for he Vietcong to hide in there for 16 years!??? The tunnels are very dark an very narrow; you either crawl on your knees, or hunch yourself for the length of two American Football fields. You also have the chance to get out of the tunnels every 30 feet or so if you feel claustrophobic. After, they take you to a shooting range where you can fire an AK weapon (extra charge). All and all, the tour is worth doing, especially since you get the whole thing (bus, guide and tunnels) for under $25 US.

“Review with a Warning!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 15, 2013 via mobile

Ben Duoc is recommended over Ben Dinh for the lack of tourist crowds, though and because it's farther from the city.
Overall, a great experience.
We bought some fake rounds in the form of key rings which were then confiscated at the airport together with two empty shells we collected after
our shooting at the nearby shooting range.
So, as a warning, don't buy anything that resembles weapons or ammunitions, even if they are fake/toys or unuseable, as you won't be able to take them home.
