“Bad Breakfast”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 6, 2014 NEW

Sorry to say I have enjoyed eating here before but today breakfast was terrible, I ordered the English breakfast and what I received was 3 small rounds of very stale bread, an undercooked tiny sausage, overcooked Bacon, wet scrambled eggs, half a tomato that was cold and horribly slimy asian mushrooms, one of the worst English breakfast experiences in Vietnam.
The view and ambience is great here and It's a shame to be served food like that in such a lovely place.

Dear Joseph,

Thank you for taking the time to share your recent breakfast experience at The Deck. I am very sorry to hear that it was not a good one. We do take pride in our services we offer and its very disappointing for us to hear about your dining experience. Please know we are investigating exactly why the food was not up to the standard of our restaurant. It is important for us to know all comments good and bad. Please feel free to email me directly at geoffrey@thedecksaigon.com. We do hope you will give us another try to show you how we aim each guest experience to leave with.

Warm Regards,
Geoffrey Deschamps, The Deck Saigon.

“A hidden gem worth a visit. ”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 30, 2014

I loved the ambiance of this restaurant. A more up-market affair than most. Outside cinema screen showing classic movies and a modern decor, and menu. Arriving by boat looked fun although we came by car. A good 20 mins or more from the city centre. We went for an evening meal and booked a table on the balcony overlooking the river which was well worth it despite the onset of torrential rain and needing to move the table back and close the folding doors. Staff were helpful and friendly although sometimes difficult to grab hold of. Food was very good and tasty although not large servings. Great mojito's. Compared to other restaurants in the city not cheap but I think still good value for money for what you get. About £50 for 3 course and alcoholic drinks for 2 people. Fantastic views up the river and of the thunderstorm that followed our arrival. Loo's are in the courtyard so I was handed a large umbrella to stave of the heavy rains. Good fun! I'd go again for sure if visiting the city.

Dear Lesley,

Thank you for dining with us recently at The Deck Saigon and sharing your experience here on Trip Advisor. It is our pleasure to know that you have enjoyed it - despite the rain! We know it can be a frustrating running in and out of the covered roof area but I think you can see that is part of the charm of the rainy season and Saigon. I will be sure to share all of your comments with the rest of our team. Do let me know if you find yourself back in Saigon and would like to arrive "James Bond Style" by boat. I would be more than happy to arrange this for you (geoffrey@thedecksaigon.com). Safe travels and we do hope to welcome you again in the future!

Warm Regards,
Geoffrey Deschamps, The Deck Saigon.

“Lovely food and staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 29, 2014

Lovely view of the river when sitting outside, which i definitely recommend. The food is maybe not the best you will ever eat but is certainly very delicious. The staff is very friendly and helpful and we loved our dinner here! We'll be coming back soon! It is more expensive than most places in HCM but I would say it is worth it:)

Dear Emma,

The entire team at The Deck Saigon would like to thank you for sharing your recent experience with us on TA. We are delighted to hear that you had a wonderful time with us. We know that we are not the cheapest restaurant in Saigon (but certainly not the most expensive) as we try to deliver the freshest ingredients possible. We are very happy to hear our efforts have been noticed and you felt the value ad we aim each guest to leave with (as well as a wonderful dining experience!).
Do let us know next time you are in Saigon as we look forward to welcoming you back again soon.

Warm Regards,
Geoffrey Deschamps, The Deck Saigon.

Dear Quah H,

Thank you for taking the time to share your recent experience here on Trip Advisor. We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed the view but sad to hear you did not feel the value ad. All of our wines are carefully selected by our international management team and never randomly selected. We try to give our guests the same experience as any five star restaurant in the world in Vietnam and at times food & beverage comes at a higher cost to deliver that. We do thank you again for your comments and we hope to welcome you back to give you that "Wow" experience we hope our guests leave with.

Warm Regards,
Geoffrey Deschamps, The Deck Saigon.

Dear Tania,

Thank you for sharing your recent experience with us here on Trip Advisor. Its our pleasure to hear that you have enjoyed our Sunday Brunch. We do understand we are not the easiest restaurant to get to depending on what area of the city you are coming from but we are happy to hear you felt it worth it. For your information the taxi from District 1 should only be no more than 200,000 vnd ($10 USD). We sincerely hope the taxi didn't over charge you as we have heard of this in the past! Thank you again for your patronage and please let us know shall you be in Saigon again as we would like to welcome you back.

Warm Regards,
Geoffrey Deschamps, The Deck Saigon.
