“Magnificent”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 14, 2013

My family used to visit this restaurant many times in the past back when it was still located in Tan Binh district as we were all big fans of French cuisine. The chef/owner of Trois Gourmands prepared an excellent 05 course set menu, always at the right portion, using lovely ingredients that married in harmony. His home-made cheese selection blew my mind away, just simply delicious yet offered at unbelievably reasonable price. The chef once offered us a home made birthday cake, which to my memory was the best cake I've ever had. Lovely.

“Magnifique”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 13, 2013

Myself and wife managed to 'escape' the teanage daughters (who we left at our hotel with Room Service and Movies,) to sneak off to visit Gils at Trois Gormands. And boy, were we glad we did. Giles who we had read about on TA, but had never met, came out from his station to greet us and offer us a complimentary Champagne on arrival. He made us feel like Rock Stars.
Our table was in a great location and the service from his local staff was very attentive but not intrusive. We chose to go through the 5 course menue and were not dissapointed. The food was typically French (I had Sails & Duck) with a nice Red that he picked from his extensive (I think he said 700 dozen) wine cellar and of a high quality with lots of choices. We particularly liked his home made cheeses to finish off the meal - after desert, with a complimentary Fortified wine that he poured for us. Gils is very affable and an excellent host who takes a real interest in his guests. We would have no hesitation in recomending his Restaurant and will return on our next visit to HCMC.

“reflecting on Trois Gourmands as a trip highlight!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 12, 2013

My boyfriend and I tracked this place down and went on a rather expensive (by Vietnamese standards) taxi ride to get to this place and it was definitely worth it! We were impressed with the service and we particularly pleased to see the owner, a rather adorable frenchman, greeting his guests with a handshake and introducing himself! The food was divine, opting each for the one entree, one mains and dessert set menu. We were considering getting the set menu which included two entrees each but thank goodness we didn't! Some of our dishes included rabbit and taragon for entree, melt in your mouth lamb and the most amazing Duck L'Orange! After the amuse bouche, bread and then after mains selection of 10 different home made cheese and an excellent bottle of red wine, we were completely stuffed!! Never had we been more content. After dinner the owner took us on a small tour of his extensive wine collection and took us to the back of house where the meet is cured and the cheeses are made!
Overall a really enjoyable evening, excellent food, perfectly matching wine, immaculate service! We reflect on this evening as a highlight of our travels throughout South-East Asia. Go Here!

“Eat here!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 5, 2013

This place is absolutely worth checking out. We came here because of the recommendations on tripadvisor and we were not disappointed. We had the $35 menu with the entree, main and dessert too. It was not just excellent value but the food was delicious. For all the courses we went with what our waitress recommended. She was an absolute delight and all her selections were perfect. The venison was melt in your mouth, the fondant was heavenly and all their dishes were flavourful! She made sure our glasses were always full and was more than happy to recommend food anx wine. The chef/owner greeted us and many of the other tables too and he came out of the kitchen at the end of our meal to shake our hand thank us for dining there. This whole experience is what you would expect from a 5 star restaurant. Faultless!
