“this really is a HIDDEN gem....!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 19, 2011

This hotel is listed in the wrong sub heading.. its listed under Inns and B& Bs !! This is a fantastic hotel (not a B & B) !! - Its probably a 4 star but it is very accommodating to western travellers and they really try hard here and the hotel is spotless..!! ... the service from all staff is terriffic.... the food in the resturant is first class whilst not being too expensive and there are western meals as well as asian avail on the menu...(trust me, you can only eat so much noodles and rice etc) The location is perfect with the hurly burly of saigon right outside the front doors. The liberty central is only 50 steps from the biggest market (ben thanh) in the central area. You can also walk to many attractions from here. It was full of aussies whilst we were there - but that was kinda cool.. with travellers being able to swap stories about where they had been at brekky.
There are heaps of good street eateries within a block and heaps of shopping within the same distance. I would reccommend this hotel for all travellers.
feel free to email me for any advice.. im a fussy bugger and this place was tops !

The Liberty Central hotel was booked for us by our Vietnamese travel agent. It looked OK online and, as we were going to be out and about in Saigon all day, we decided to just go with the agent's advice. Thanks again to Mr Pham at Aurora travel! A great hotel at a great price in the best location... Really close to the centre of town - markets, restaurants, amazing people watching at the park/plaza a few blocks away near the markets. The rooms were quite spacious, modern, spotlessly clean and very quiet. Has a nice little open area at ground level for coffee and light snacks, a pool (NB pool and pool bar closes early), restaurant and efficient service with a smile. It set a high standard for hotels in Vietnam in a very reasonable price range. The BBQ Garden restaurant a block away is a good budget eatery set under trees festooned with pretty lights - worth checking if you stay at this hotel...

If you are looking for something not too expensive but dont want to rough it then this is the hotel for you. The price range is in the middle not as expensive as those big hotels right in town yet not too cheap to be the so called "love hotels" like others around the area. The staff sometimes can be quite hard to understand and come across as rude but I think they are trying. The location of this hotel is not too bad its a short walk and I mean short to the local market which by day you can buy anything from poultry, seafoods, fruits to fakes watches or souvenirs and by night there are lots of eateries around the area too.If you want to try the typical vietnamnese "street food" then this hotel is perfect. Some might say this hotel is noisy but Its a little hard to find a quiet hotel since you're in an overpopulated city. Breakfast is okay , Gym and pool are a rather small but Free WIFI access in your room is a big plus.

A little gem located just a 50m walk from Ben Thanh markets.

The size of the room was good. It met our needs. Breakfast was nice and had standard western food with a little Asian cuisine. The staff were very helpful.

Overall this is a great hotel located close to the markets.

From the time we arrived until the time we left we had a great time at this hotel. Service was great and very friendly, rooms were great with cakes and fruit on arrival. Right next door to the markets and night market, across the road from the parks and bus station. Everything you could need.

We stayed for four night at Liberty Central...great hotel..very friendly staff they even escorted us across the road stopping traffic to do so. Pool was clean and lovely in the heat of the afternoon. Rooms spacious and we got a free upgrade with a magnificent view..2 minute walk to the market and one or 2 dollars in a taxi to anywhere else in the city. Agreat place to start your adventure in Vietnam..
