“Excellent location, nice room, excellent value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 11, 2013

We stayed here for two nights in November. Staff were friendly, but I didn't appreciate the long, rather anxious wait for my washing to be returned. Very good location, and really good value. Good breakfast.

Great central location down a lane. The airport taxi stand can direct drivers there with no issue. Had a larger room this time which was still pleasant and on a higher level so no noise from the reception area. The incessant humming was found to come from a minibar refrigerator which we needed to turn off as it was just too loud (we reported it to reception so hopefully that's been fixed). Wifi is available - I didn't manage to connect to the internet using the room computer. The staff were as helpful as in the previous trip. We took a day trip to the Mekong to see the floating market which the hotel arranged - the hotel is connected to the tour company. I don't think the day trip is worth it as the floating market is barely operating. The two day trip takes you to a much larger market.

We stayed a couple of days, then came back a week later on the way home from Cambodia for a few more nights. Top location, we had a better look around the second time, good shops and food. Yes definatly would stay again. Affordable and very organized. They found our missing bag from the bus station, and held our stuff for us while we went to cambodia.

We checked in late - 11:00 Christmas Eve, to be exact. They were friendly, welcoming, and immediately gave us a key to our room. One of the attendants kindly helped us with our bags, and headed downstairs. Then I realized I had left my backpack in the lobby, just as the attendant brought it up to me. And alas! My iPhone had disappeared from the backpack. Either the attendant was David Copperfield in disguise, or someone nicked it.

Granted, this is ultimately my fault for leaving the bag in the lobby. Nevertheless, someone was able to take it in a matter of about 60 seconds. Moral of the story: Watch your stuff like a hawk. Nevertheless, the manager was apologetic, and even paid for our taxi to the airport. Very nice of them.

Aside from the theft - which was my fault - Beautiful Saigon 2 is a value for HCMC. It's clean and well-maintained, although the shower is awkwardly built and always ends up with water on the floor. The best part of the room was the balcony! I loved sitting out there before bed or first thing in the morning before sightseeing, hearing the sounds of shops opening and hawkers walking down the streets. That in and of itself made it worth every dong we paid for it! (1,000,000/night, or $50 US).

Room Tip: Get a room with a balcony!

Booked this because it was inexpensive and located conveniently for the things we wanted to do in HCMC. It definitely lived up to the reviews. My wife and I had a room on the 3rd floor with two beds on the back side of the building.

The hotel is located in a small alley off of one of the main backpacker roads. Because of this, it's conveniently located, but much quieter than if it were located on the main road. Traffic noise in our room was minimal, and we only occasionally heard other guests coming up the stairs. There wasn't any view out the windows, since we were at the back of the hotel. Though, given the location, the view from the front of the hotel wouldn't be that different. We walked most places around town, and the hotel was close enough to most of the major tourist sites. We probably logged a few miles of walking each day. It would be just as easy to get a cab if you prefer that. We opted for the airport pick up service, which was nice not to worry about getting a cab when we arrived.

The staff were great. The room was very clean, and relatively spacious, given the cost of property in HCMC. The bed was a little hard, but that is consistent with every place I've been in Asia. The breakfast was good. Eggs, pancakes, toast, etc... They changed the menu part way through our stay, offering Pho as well. The Pho was decent, but maybe not as good as what I had in other places around town.

Overall, it was a great hotel at a great price.

Right in the heart of exactly where we wanted to be, but a nice retreat whenever we got too overwhelmed. Lovely atmosphere, obliging and friendly staff and great value. Breakfast was always enjoyable, with an atmospheric street view. Offered a complimentary buffet dinner party on New Years which was a nice touch. No complaints whatsoever about the rooms! If I'm ever back in Saigon this will be top of my list.

We booked two rooms at the "Beautiful Saigon 3" next door for the 4 of us (myself, husband and 2 teenage daughters) but when we arrived we found they had accidentally only reserved one room for us. They were VERY apologetic and gave us a large room next door with a queen bed, a single and a fold away bed. It was a decent size room. Very clean. Free wifi. Great breakfast included in the price.
