“There is far better accommodation in Saigon”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 6, 2012

We stayed for one night, the rooms are clean but smell cigarettes. Staff are pleasant. Close to the Ben Thanh Markets, roughly a 5 minute walk. We're not fussy travellers but we were disappointed in the breakfast, a good range but the food was cold. If you stay make sure you ask for fresh eggs, that was you're guaranteed for hot food. There is a travel agent on the other side of the hotel but one street down. They were very helpful and the service was great, we booked a bus to Muine and it was a brand new sleeper.

It is situated quite near to Ben Than Market. went to the nite market every nite!
i got a room at the 7th floor. next to the elevator but we had a peaceful sleep (maybe september is not a peak season; not many people).
the day receptionists were nice but not for the nite shift. not friendly at all!
the best staff should go to the lady in the coffee shop. she will greet ALL with a warm smile and say Good Morning Sir / Madam.
will definitely recommend this hotel to others.

We stayed here a few nights. My daughter and I had an ok room, my son and Husband had a room with no window (not very pleasant). The hotel was certainly not sound proof and we could hear everything that went on outside our room. We arranged a trip to the Mekong Delta so we wanted to go there for a few nights then come back to the Kingston Hotel for 1 more night (we couldn't be bothered looking for another Hotel). Well we kept getting different answers - yes we can and no we cant!! We left there thinking they had booked a room for us. Hence when we arrived back they were fully booked and there was no room booked! Very confusing. We were lucky though and found another Hotel (Lan Lan 2) a couple of doors down which I definitely recommend. The staff there were very helpful.

Room Tip: Make sure you don't book a room with no window.

We have already stayed at Kington many times and each stay was pleaseant. The rooms are big and suitable for our family and friends - they are beeing cleaned promptly. The staff there is very professional courteous and helpful. The breakfast is very good.
The hotel is situated right in the city and the location is very convenient. Will return there again.

Stayed at the Kingston Hotel for three nights in a superior room. The greeting at reception was warm and friendly (much needed after the 9hr flight). The room was clean, tidy and quiet. Breakfast was good with a good variety.
The hotel is just down the road from the Ben Thanh Market (cheap dinner idea) and all sightseeing is close by.
We didn't eat at he hotel for dinner but we had a couple of drinks each evening (say hello to Jacky for me)

We've just arrived, and were greeted nicely with prompt checkin :) Room spacious & very clean, lovely bathroom, & big bed. I recommend you ask for a room away from the stairs or lift as its quite noisy :( and the A/C is very loud!!! Plus expect the grinding of furniture in the rooms above, below and next to you, the floors are marble, and the cleaners made an almighty ruckus today.
We decided to try the massage but the young girl really had no idea :( she was all over the place, missing things as she went! I had to ask for oil, and then she would pause with one hand while checking her mobile! The most awkward feeling while you wait for what happens next. Then she expected a great tip. I was less than impressed, however I must admit the manager offered me a free massage but I decided once was enough thank you lol.
Wi-fi is a bit hit & miss atm.
Would've been nice to have a pool.
Waiting to see how the rest of our next 3 days go!!!!
Btw the Vincom Plaza is outstanding!!!!! Top quality shops with a whole floor dedicated to kids! The bakeries are yum, as are the icecream cafes. The NYDC cafe had a great steak with fries and my fish and chips were oh so yum! Highly recommend you take a look! The tax centre is also close by, expect to see diamonds everywhere! if you're looking to barter try Saigon Saigon. Packed tot he brim with people, and all sorts of things to find, similar to a market but a lot neater and cleaner :))))
Bring on tomorrow!

Room Tip: It would be good if they explained room service (24hr), breakfast times (6-9.30am) & wi-fi on ch...

First we were put in a Junior Suite - because our room type wasn't available - which was very nice! Living room, big bedroom and massive bath with shower and big tub. One of the nicest rooms I ever stayed, although we didn't use the living room.
When we returned we got our originally booked room - Premium Superior - which was perfectly fine. Big bedroom - the beds are always massive and comfortable - with small bath.
The last time we came back we booked the cheapest - Superior (which is the lowest) without window - which we actually preferred to the one before, because the room itself was bigger and the bath was much bigger. And a window is not really needed when you only sleep there. You can't open the window anyway.
Breakfast was very good with a selection of Western and Asian food. Always enough eggs, bacon, tea and coffee plus obligatory fruit plates.
The furnishing and cleanliness standard was high everywhere and the staff - reception and restaurant - were friendly and helpful.
The location is in walking distance to all sights. The biggest shopping street is about 10mins away and the biggest market just 2mins. We would stay here again, definitely!
