My hubby went out of our hotel room for his Friday prayers...off he went, traipsing along the streets in HCMC,making his way to Dong Du street while my little tot and I had our nap in the hotel room due to our early flight that day.
When he came back,he brought goodies from Halal Saigon, yup! Lunch from the restuarant and it was so lovely. He brought some fried local veg, succulent fried beef and the chicken rice paper rolls all nicely packed in pplastic container. We just loved the food and it'sa hit with our boy as well.
Later that night,i urged him to bring us there again as I wanted to sample the vietnamese delicacies at the restaurant itself. Unfortunately, the menu isn't upto my expectations as the menu contains malaysian food (they even have laksa penang!!!) and also vietnamese food which is not somuch...don't get me wrong, I totally adore Malaysian food but I don't want to be sampling my own food in Vietnam...nevertheless, after crossing out seafood and malaysian dishes, we finally settled for some vietnamese dishes which was, as usual good!
I still give it a 4 though because the food is very good and tasty enough and at least, the food is vietnamese and HALAL...also because of its accessability, near the Dong Khoi area. If you want to sample more authentic halal vietnamese food, I would suggest for you to go for places near the Ben Tanh area, however, they are not listed on tripadvisor!
Tip: Do note that they charge about 20sen for each plastic container for the take aways!
