“Very very nice...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 days ago NEW

Stayed here for two nights at end of a Vietnam trip. We arrived after a long train journey and it was heavenly to be picked up by a lovely chauffeur driven BMW with a/c and ipad in situ! The room was absolutely gorgeous , with a four poster bed and lovely fixtures/fittings, and a lovely separate sitting room with fab view over the river. The mini bar is complimentary although the contents will vary depending on the room. There is a regular shuttle boat in to town and they even called it back for us as we had forgotten to let them know in advance. The dining area is gorgeous at night with the lighting and the view over the river. Food pretty good and there is an a la carte breakfast menu. Service at reception very good and the lady even let us move to another room as we had a very late flight as it was better for our daughter. The pool is lovely and there is a small spa and the Thai massage I had there was great. The only tiny negative is that the service at dinner could have been a bit more friendly from one or two staff. Overall loved my time here and would gladly go back.

Stayed April 2015

This hotel is a wonderful oasis from the hustle and bustle of HCMC. Right on the river, the view and the ambience is lovely. In the evening the cool breezes from the river make sitting out on the patio special.
The pool is large and very pleasant. The staff very very very helpful.
For our late flight at 11:30 pm we asked for late checkout. Our room was booked so at no cost we were moved to an other room and could stay until we left at 8:00... this was truly great service.
While the hotel is about 20 minutes from the city centre, this was not really an issue, as there was a shuttle service and if you took a cab it was $10.
Highly recommended and a great place to stay.

Room Tip: river view with a balcony

Often at the end of a trip, I return home needing a real vacation. However, after a month of travel from Hanoi to Saigon, a three-day stay at the Villa Song was the ideal way to savor the Vietnam experience. The natural beauty of the surroundings is enhanced by the attention to detail in the selection of furnishings and finishes in the rooms and public spaces. I grudgingly left the domed parlor room on my art suite to enjoy meals at the waterside restaurant. Most important, however, is the air of serenity reinforced by Yega (the manager), whose inherent calm manner and desire to please made this the perfect end to a vacation.

Room Tip: An art suite with a domed parlor room is a special.

Sitting on the balcony in the early morning light, having a lovely Nespresso from the machine provided, watching the boats chugging up and down the river, what more could you want!
The villa is actually a recently restored mansion on the banks of the River and it exudes Colonial elegance.

As everyone has said, a lovely oasis of calm about 20 minutes from the chaos of downtown Saigon, set in a leafy, peaceful, expat suburb.
Efficient shuttle car six times a day into town to the Opera House, which is right at the crossroads of the two main shopping streets, Dong Hoi and Le Loi.
Until last month, they used to run a shuttle boat, but the government closed the pier with no warning, so this is no longer running at present(no fault of Villa Song's).

This has been our last port of call in a month long trip of Vietnam and we seem to have saved the best for last.
Very helpful, happy staff obviously doing their utmost to please, albeit some are still being trained.
Nothing was too much trouble, and I must say they have the most rapid response time of any Room Service and Housekeeping that I have ever come across.
How anyone could run up the stairs with a jug of milk for your tea or a bucket of ice for your G and T is beyond me!

Any minor hiccups were very promtly and efficiently sorted out by the very competent GM, Yega, so have no hesitation for asking for any assistance.
He also is allowing us a very late checkout( our plane does not leave until 19.45) at no extra charge and at his insistence, which is above and beyond the usual, and just shows the care and attention that is going into the running of this establishment.
No hesitation in wholeheartedly recommending, and we will be back!

Room Tip: View of the river,no lift so be aware

Villa song is a little gem of a boutique hotel by the Saigon river away from busy HCMC, which can be reached by free shuttle in under 25 min.
It has a pool which is a godsend after a hot day in town.
The room was lovely spacious and well appointed from the Nespresso machine, kettle, free mini bar, apple tv remote if you wish to download some stuff... i could go on and on.

The breakfast is a la carte( included in the room price) and served on the terrace overlooking the river, and which can be ordered all day long, so if you fancy a lazy morning , there is no rush.
We had dinner there quite a few times and it was superb fusion cuisine of vietnamese dishes with a french twist, and the best food we had during our 3 weeks tour of Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia.
The personnel was very attentive eager to help always with a smile and well organized, which is a credit to the management team.
This was the most perfect way to end our tour of Vietnam, we left on a high note though wishing we had stayed longer.
I don't think you will find anything better that this hidden gem.

Wow, what can I say about this gorgeous hotel away from the hustle of HCMC - beautiful rooms, lovely location, amazing breakfasts, great pool, wonderful people, free minibar I could go on and on - what really makes this hotel special is the way it is managed and the lovely team that work there. Nothing was too much trouble, from taxis, dinner reservations, tour guides, plasters, all dealt with, with a smile and great efficiency, the waiter bought my coffee to me with a small biscuit which both my children wanted so I split it with them, he must have overhead this and came back immediately with a plate of biscuits for them, it is small thoughtful touches like this that make a difference and make a stay at this hotel truly memorable, without a doubt the best service and most stylish hotel we stayed in on out 3 week tour of Vietnam, my only complaint was that we did not discover this earlier and stay longer! Yes its a bit out of town but its nice to get away from the city and it only costs around £5 to get a taxi or their free shuttle bus, it really wasn't a problem, if you are considering this hotel just book it, I promise you its really special - you wont regret it.

We didn't stay in the hotel but we came because we heard the food here was amazing. After being seated at a table right by the river, the kind and ever smiling staff came to show us their different menus. Luckily for us, the executive chef came out and described to us all about the different variety of cuisines on offer. After a very informative discussion we both decided to go for the Chef's Special Choices menu. For starters we shared the Green Apple Curry Soup which was delicious. For mains, my girlfriend had the Chicken roulade which was wrapped in bacon and filled with mushroom and peanut and came with a mango-chili chutney and coco-curry sauce, which was divine. I had the cinnamon roasted and lightly smoked duck breast, which was perfectly cooked and came with Sapodilla puree and an amazing pepper-ginger sauce. The passion fruit cheesecake was something I couldn't refuse and my girlfriend liked it even though she never likes cheesecake. All in all, this is a great place to get out of the city in Saigon and go to a nice relaxing atmosphere in District 2. The area is so quiet and clean and the moonlight shimmering on the river made it into a very romantic evening. If it wasn't our last night in Saigon we would have definitely come to stay here for a few days.

Room Tip: Ask to speak with Kevin, their Executive Chef
