“Good stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

Villa Song is a beautiful house set in a beautiful grounds right on the river. The location was fantastic for us, as many write here - after visiting the busy city, you'd feel like in a oasis there.
All staff were very pleasant, friendly and helpful. I would point out though that its a shame they don't have a separate kids pool, as when we were there and wanted a piece of that 'oasis' we had 6 children in the pool area. They were having a great fun and there's nothing wrong with that, but unless you want all the noise, splashing, running around you when you are trying to rest, sleep or read or in fact swim yourself…But if this doesn't bother you or you'll go out off school holiday time, you won't regret staying there.

Room Tip: We stayed a night in the Sanctuary Suite and that was a lovely large room (although strangely no sho...

Although we weren't particularly impressed with the city of Saigon, we were really pleased with the Villa Song Saigon. The hotel is situated in district 2, right on the river away from the craziness of the city center. The staff was super helpful and very friendly. The restaurant in the hotel is right on the river and has some great food ranging from authentic Vietnamese to a great burger. The boat ride into the city gives you a chance to see life on the river and prepare yourself for the chaos of downtown Saigon. Would recommend to anyone looking to visit Saigon to stay at Villa Song, you will not be disappointed.

This is a smallish boutique hotel in district 2 of Saigon. It is on the river and offers beautiful views. Complimentary boat service is available regularly for transportation to the city centre thereby avoiding the awful traffic. The staff are most helpful and accommodating of all your wishes. As a new hotel they are very keen to maintain their standing. I think they will continue to be very strong.

Great place to stay, HCMC is a busy city and hotels in District 1 seemed to lack charm and peace. Which is exactly what we found at Villa Song. Getting about is easy as the boat goes into town regularly and taxis are plentiful. The room as beautiful with a nice view of the pool. Which incidentally is open 24hrs which was great if you wanted a late evening swim to cool off after being in the city. Breakfast is nice, not sure why everyone raves about the eggs benedict, the french toast was way better! The free mini bar has no alcohol in case you were hoping it did. This didn't bother us as a cold beer by the water is a must. The spa was of a high standard, the hot stone massage was relaxing and well needed after a day in HCMC. A 15 min walk and you can find authentic restaurants with locals enjoying their dinner. We also did the back of the bike street food tour, the boat took us at 5.30 to the pier in district one where they met us, at the end of the tour they flagged a cab for us. Everything about this hotel was perfect, a small piece of heaven in crazy city.

Room Tip: If you can afford it take a river view room, plus there is no lift in case you don't like stairs...

Villa Song Saigon is a boutique hotel situated on the banks of the Saigon River. The hotel is a beautiful colonial style building set in the up-market Expatriate area of Saigon (District 2). We had booked one of the smaller rooms, but upon arrival were pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to a spacious room with river views!

The elegant rooms are air-conditioned and have flat-screen cable TV, Nespresso coffee machine and extremely comfortable bedding. The private bathroom in our room was equipped with an old style claw foot bath and a large walk-in shower.

The outdoor saltwater pool is large and welcoming after a hectic day of sight seeing in the city. There is also a small gym and nice little spa centre- where I had an excellent massage by the resident therapist. The hotel staff were all great, and very helpful. We had a number of occasions to speak to the Operations Manager , who was available every day if you needed any assistance.

The hotel's restaurant, Bistro Song Vie, serves international cuisine and has an open-air bar with an extensive list of wines and spirits. All-day breakfast is also available. Because this is an Expat area there are some great restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. There are also good wine shops and deli's where you can buy imported European cheese and cured meats.

The hotel offers a free speed boat service to the city- District 1 (and return) several times per day. The boat trip takes about 15 minutes, but take advantage of this as the views from the river into the city are fabulous. It was the end of our holiday and a great way to finish with this luxurious stay.
We only stayed for 3 days but I could have quite happily stayed for weeks!

Villa Song is new beautiful boutique hotel set on the banks of the Mekong in District 2 of HCMC. The grounds are lovely, the pool wonderful, the rooms and amenities are first class, the breakfast is delicious and served in the gardens overlooking the river. The big bathrooms are divine with walk-in wonderful rain head showers. The staff are all lovely and helpful. The internet was problematic but they seem to have improved it after we complained. My husband and I stayed at Villa Song the last 4 nights of our 21 day trip in Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos so we were happy to relax, enjoy the view of the Mekong and sun by the pool. However there is not much to see or do in District 2, which is an upscale residential area. All the action is in District 1. In order to get to District 1 from Villa Song you can avail yourself of their free speedy shuttle boat which drops you/picks you up at the pier in downtown HCMC, about a 10 min ride. But the boat stops running at 6 PM. The other way is to take taxis, which are not expensive. For us it was a great ending to our vacation, but if you want to be able to walk around central HCMC see the sights, try the foods, go back to a hotel freshen up and then go out again Villa Song is too far removed for that convenience. You probably would not make more than one trip a day into central HCMC from there. That is the trade-off for staying in a tranquil luxurious hotel. District 1 hotels in HCMC tend to be huge name brand rather anonymous and costly places or smaller simple and nondescript. Whether Villa Song is for you depends on your priorities.

Room Tip: Ask for river view room. We had a sanctuary room on the 3 rd floor with a river view. Some rooms do...

Why would anyone choose to stay in the centre of HCMC when Villa Song provides the most perfect, peaceful and comfortable haven, just down the river, with a courtesy boat into town?
We spent a very relaxing three days here, enjoying the sights of HCMC without the noise and bustle, and escaping back to the hotel for delicious dinners and great breakfasts, on the terrace by the river. Excellent service, comfortable rooms, lovely river views, and a great swimming pool all made this a stay to remember.

Room Tip: River view rooms are good
