“Great place to stay in HCMC”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 31, 2012

Highly recommend Catina Saigon hotel as a great place to stay in HCMC. The quality of the room is higher than I expected. The location is very convenient. Walkable to nearby attraction and Parkson shopping center. Plenty of nice restaurants around the hotel. Breakfast served at the hotel has a decent selection and good. We truly enjoyed our stay and hope to be back again.

The location of the hotel is great, it could not be better. I found the staff had a poor understanding of English and thre was a bit of an argument between two members of staff when we checked in, not sure what this was about as I don't speak Vietnemese but it was not exactly a warm welcome. When we asked about a surcharge if we paid on a creidt card we got a very strange answer. We got a newspaper every day which was good and a nice bowl of fruit on our arrival. Breakfast was ok but there was no explanation about what you could have cooked ie eggs, waffles etc.
The room was big and clean as was the bathroom. The main door to the room was very heavy and a lot of people banged the doors in the morning hence not good for sleeping past 7am. The tea and coffee was not renewed on day twoand my husband got a snotty note from the head housekeeper as he had taken the face cloth on an outing. You think we had made off with the crown jewels!

Dear EnglandMoses,

Thank you for your remarks about our services, especially the front office staffs. I have talked to them to improve their attitude as well as to provide suitable explanation and full information on our guests' inquiries. Regarding the cloth, the head housekeeper might have just wanted to ask (again, not politely) if you had put it somewhere so that she could retrieve. Actually, we did not request compensation.

We hope we can welcome you again in the future, that time certainly with more amiable attitude from all our staffs.

Traveling in Asia can be difficult to find western amenities such as soft bed and comfy pillows with spacious rooms and bathrooms. Rest assured that Catina fits the bill and is in a great location to walk to many sites. The staff was great in getting cabs and booking dinner reservations.

We stayed in Catina for 1 night when we were at Hochimin City on last Saturday. The hotel location was great and the room was big spacious and cosy. The staff was very friendly and non-intrusive, and always with a great smile. We actually regretted booking another hotel for the following night but well it was too late to cancel the other hotel by then.
Will definitely recommend Catina to Friends who would be visiting HCMC.

After leaving another Hotel early because of hard beds we tried the Catina, well we picked well great rooms and nice and quiet we were in room 209, well appointed room and great bed not too soft and definetly not hard. The staff were always helpful and friendly and breakfast was buffet with a good choice of food. The location is great and just across the road from 5 star hotels and close to major shopping malls and locations. The Opera House is 300 metres up the road from the Hotel and we had some great night walks looking at all the Christmas decorations and lights. I would recommend this Hotel to anyone its good value and in a fantastic location we will certainly be returning

Room Tip: 209 was good (stated no window) there is a false window there that is lit to make it look real, fool...

I have stayed in this hotel 4 times in the past 4 years and am always impressed! The staff remembers me every time and always greets me with a smile. Rose and the rest of the team at reception cannot be beat....5 star service and warmth that you don't always find at 5 star hotels. The personal touch is what makes this hotel different! Even the housekeeper remembered me and my fiancée this past trip!

Beware that the beds are so comfortable that you might not want to get out of them in the morning! The rooms are up to par with many 5 star hotels that I have stayed at around the world (and I have stayed at alot). I try to stay in the suite since its very large and has a balcony that overlooks busy Dong Khoi. The Aircon works so well that you might get too cold, which I love for sleeping.

The location cannot be beat. It's opposite the Sheraton and Caravelle right in the middle of the action in District 1. My favorite regular bar in Saigon is right next door, The Bier Garden. The Opera House and Vincom 1 and 2 are minutes away.

I have stayed at other hotels in Saigon which I really enjoyed but I always find myself returning to the Catina. Thanks to the staff, I will return in the future. Awesome hotel!!!!

The hotel is right in the center of the shopping district of the city. It was really convenient to just step outside, walk around and shop, and come back for a rest. After reading the reviews, we made sure to get a room with a window which made a big difference. The room is not spacious but enough for us. It was clean which was the most important. The breakfast is great and the staff are very helpful. I also like the fact that it's not a big hotel but one that is boutique with a personal touch.
