“Truly top class hotel well located”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 5, 2013 via mobile

This brilliant hotel is truly 5 star in every sense. My wife and I stayed twice over the last week on separate occasions and found it to be extremely good. Service is terrific, and whilst some staff struggle with English, they always made an effort or called for help....well done! The breakfasts were fabulous, great choices for all tastes and different countries. We found the cocktail bars great...sure a little pricey, but service, presentation and ambiance are great. We dined at the Italian restaurant in the complex..also very good. The have a lovely pool, and well equipped Gym. This hotel is well worth the money, it is in a top location, and is magnificent in every sense.

Normally I do not stay in large hotels, but this time I was on a river cruise and this was the hotel that was assigned for our days in Saigon. The rooms are okay, the bathrooms are marvelous (we did not stay in a room with sliding doors to the bathroom, but entered by the room's hallway), the pool and work out room are very nice, the public spaces are beautiful, the continental breakfast is all you could want and more (both local, American and European fare) and the Concierge desk has absolutely exceptional service. And the personnel at this hotel made the experience one of my fondest memories in Saigon. All were gracious and friendly. We got to know the man who works the elevator area-- you must talk to him his story is amazing. The girls who assist at breakfast are wonderful, attending to our every need and encouraging us to go out of our comfort level and try new foods. Thank you girls- we so looked forward to breakfast! Some people say staying at a large hotel removes you from the culture, and to some degree this is true, but while at the Saigon we witnessed a Christmas party and a new baby shower party that were attended by locals who use the hotel as a place to hold special events. And as I have said getting to know and interacting with the staff was a great introduction to the people of Vietnam.

Apart from from Park Hyatt, this is my favourite hotel in HCMC - not that it is not as good as Park Hyatt, but it is modern, vs Park Hyatt, which is old-style. Centrally located, close to shops and eating places - right next to Hard Rock Cafe. Nice, clean, comfy rooms. Only complaint is that the water going into the bathtub was not hot enough, although people in the other rooms didn't have that problem.

As always, staying at the IC is a wonderful experience. The room was beautifully appointed, if a bit crowded, it offered a beautiful view of the city. The Club Lounge was very nice for breakfast and Happy Hour. Our visit was very relaxed, and we look forward to returning soon.

While staying for business in HCM City I had several changes of trying out other hotels in town and I always like to come back to the InterContinental in HoCHiMin City.
Rooms are comfortable and almost luxury… the bed is amazingly welcoming, breakfast is really good (only sometimes too noisy by tourist groups) staff is really hospital and general services are on higher levels than other hotels.
Try out the room service by ordering cesar salad and a drink… you wound regret.. I bet…
furthermore... nice spa / pool and fitness location....

Room Tip: so far I could not figure a better room than the others.... kind size beds are the key I guess

The hotel is in a central location within the city within easy walking distance of the main attractions and restaurants.

It's a bit of a high rise which makes it feel a business hotel but actually most staying there are tourists.

We had a superior room which was upgraded on arrival to free breakfast and wifi in the room.

We used the pool ( which is large) and the gym; good but poor air conditioning. The spa was very relaxing and we had a very good Thai massage.

We got a good deal for the hotel on line to it was worth the stay value wise.

We didn't eat in the hotel restaurants which were expensive with those compared in the city

Room Tip: Go for the best room you can make: superior rooms up are very comfortable

Dear Steve J,

We appreciate your comments about your stay at our hotel.
We will review and rectify the airconditioning in the gym. Hopefully we can welcome you back on your next visit and introduce you to our Peking Duck promotion in our Yu Chu restaurant.

Best regards,

We stayed here for one night on our way home from a fantastic honeymoon in Vietnam. I have to say it has one of the best breakfasts I have ever seen! Everything from sushi to fresh coconuts it had it all. Hotel room was clean and bed was super comfy. The staff were excellent and they even gave us a honeymoon cake on arrival as a special treat! Their commitment to eco credentials was excellent also, with reducing waste and energy efficient lighting obvious indicators to working hard at this.
Location is a 5 minute walk from centre but this is the only real drawback we experienced.

Room Tip: Get a high room to avoid traffic noise.
