This is my fourth stay at the Sanouva Hotel in Saigon and I must say the hotel is the same way as the first time I stayed there. I arrived on both occasions and check in was flawless. (verify/add credit card/check passport)
The reception staff welcomed me and made sure I was well taken care of from the minute I arrived to delivering my bags to the room.
It is simply a gem of a boutique hotel and a personal favorite of mine simply because of the welcoming/friendly nature of the staff. The hotel staff: Reception Staff, Bell Boy, Security, Maid Service and Kitchen are extremely friendly and helpful with any request.
On both visits to the hotel I was booked into a Sanouva Deluxe Room DBL for my gf and myself. The room was spotless and remained so for my entire stay. I do recommend booking a higher room floor if possible because the view is better and it is much quieter than lower level floors. The room itself has a large comfortable king size bed, large window, chair, stocked mini fridge, satellite LCD TV, AC, electronic safe and free wifi. The bathroom consists of nice standup shower with strong water pressure and ample hot water.
The room also included free buffet breakfast. The breakfast is limited with choices but what they do well is simply make good Asian/Western food. There is limited space for seating so if you rise early for tours I would suggest you hit breakfast before everyone else. If you are flexible I’d suggest waiting until after 9AM to avoid the rush and then you will have plenty of seating to choose from. Once breakfast is complete then all of the extra seating is removed. The rest of the afternoon/evening tables are reserved for the restaurant. I haven’t eaten there yet, but will do so next stay. (didn’t realize food was served other times until noticed people eating in the evening)
Other amenities the hotel offers is a tour book so you can book tours directly from the hotel, they also have a small gym, business center, laundry service and 2 pcs in the lobby for internet use. The hotel is located around the corner from Ben Thanh market and is in a very central location with easy access to many bars, restaurants, hair salons, and tourist attractions.
Limited but delicious breakfast buffet
Free motorbike parking for my gf
Still no coffee/tea service
Again what makes this hotel special is the top notch staff and this is the same staff I first encountered 3 years ago. I think this alone tells you much about the hotel – they keep their staff so it must be a very good place to work. I would like to personally thank Thu and Anh who work the front desk as reception staff. These two are stars and I highly recommend a promotions since these two go out of their way to make your stay a very nice one.
