“Would stay here again!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 10, 2010

I stayed at 3 other hotels in the area and I would say that this one was the cleanest. I had a very small room (which would be my only complaint....barely enough room to walk around the bed) but the air con worked great, the wifi was working well and of course the location is superb. I didn't have time to grab breakfast, but it was included!

I stayed in Nguyen Khang hotel beginning of May for 3 nights. Room is very clean as they clean up room daily, room small but cozy and comfortable bed. Location is great, right at center of HCMC, you can walk to Ben Thanh market. It is located in small alley, steps away to catch taxi at main street Pham Ngu Lao, it's a good choice in small alley to keep motobike noise away for your sleep at night. Ms. Thu, receptionist, is very cheerful & helpful to give some advice going aroung the city, booking tour to Mekong Delta.

A small breakfast (bread, jam, fried egg, coffee or tea) is served at ground floor inclusive in booking price; I had chance to talk to other travellers down there in a family alike arrangement serve.

More importantly, I feel very safe at this hotel. I will definitely come back and recommend it to friends.

I had previously stayed in the Nguyen Khang mini hotel for 6 months in 2006 and decided to come back as it was (back then) the best mini hotel in the alley off Pham Ngu Lao. How things have changed!!! The room (room 201) was in desperate need of a clean - walls were absolutely filthy, towels were grey and old, light fittings were missing, aircon was not functioning, lockable cupboard was missing the key and unfriendly staff... just to name a few! The man who checked us in was extremely rude and did not provide us with the usual level of Vietnamese customer service we had experienced at other mini hotels throughout the country. We initially booked for 3 nights but left after one. There are countless other better value mini hotels within the Pham Nug Lao area that I would recommend before staying in the Nguyen Khang. If you a are looking for a relatively clean mini hotel with welcoming and friendly staff for under $30US - dont bother coming here!

This hotel is at the heart of the city in a small alley.
It has great room but the the stairs will kill you. We stayed at the 4rth floor and my parents coudnt take it, despite of the downside we were satisfied with our room which is only USD25 for the 3 of us with breakfast. The staff will help you with the luggage all the way up to your room. Airport pick up is USD14 if you arive at night. They also have city tour services. I would recommend this for young travelers only.

This is an average hotel set in the busy district of HCMC. It is not that bad, and it is your standard hotel. Meaning there is AC, Wifi, Cable TV, and breakfast. The breakfast is included in the rate of the room, but it is nothing to get excited about, it is simply bread and jam. Or bread or egg. Your better eating out if you want a filling breakfast. The rooms are clean, but the beds are slightly hard, as I have discovered in most Vietnamese Hotels. All in all a decent budget hotel. BTW, another reviewer mentioned the receptionist, buying bus tickets to other destinations, your best bet really is to go out the street, and you will see loads of operators selling tickets to various destinations. So if they offer this service, I will politely decline it, as there plenty places which offer the service cheaper!
