Not far from our hotel's front door in District 1, we came across a bright, clean and rather small restaurant. Curious name; worth a try. Much larger menu than the size of the place might suggest, making the choice rather time-consuming. But worth the effort. Excellent, fresh ingredients, with menu items we had not experienced in Vietnamese restaurants in Canada or elsewhere. Clearly, coming to the source makes sense. I had to be tutored by the waiter how to use the ingredients as presented and once I got the hang of it, the experience was even better. I had, among other choices, the Banh xeo, a very large stuffed crepe which I'll no doubt order again during our stay. My wife had the vermicelli with spring rolls (a favourite at home) and was impressed. Our very satisfying dinner for two (with a local beer) came to 300,000 dong - about $15. Do not pass this place by.
