The IC is located in a lovely and serene environment, and like other reviewers have mentioned, it is indeed a breath of fresh air from the noisy Old Quarter in Hanoi.
Check-in/out was seamless, and the bellboy Thanh was friendly. I had a pool-facing room - nice and spacious, comfy bed, fantastic bathroom. Two gripes - no chairs in the balcony, and there was a lizard in my room squawking all night. Yes, lizards squawk, I attest to it. I did not however, request for a change of room since it was rather late, and I was already tucked in before the squawking began.
Service is great, as would be expected of the IC. Food experience.... sadly lacking. I had dinner at the Sunset Bar. Toughest pork ribs I've ever had. It was an exercise just trying to slice it. But it was a beautiful place to lounge and cocktail. Breakfast at the Cafe Du Lac saw me ordering "fresh orange juice" that could only be from a box. I would have thought at the IC "fresh orange juice" meant freshly squeezed orange juice. It makes one miss the Hilton breakfasts.
That said, the IC does provide a nice respite from the crowd, grime and noise of the Old Quarter, though the price and hype may make one think twice.
